HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Hastings Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing land to provide a site for a community centre, the said Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and twenty-five one-thousandths (125/1000ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property appearing on the valuation roll of the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be due and payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off."
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Hastings Borough Council held on Thursday, 17th October, 1946.

CHANGE OF NAME OF COMPANY
NOTICE is hereby given that Fawcett & Gibbs, LIMITED, has changed its name to GIBBS AND GRIEVE, LIMITED, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.

PYNE, GOULD, GUINNESS, LIMITED
In the matter of the Pyne, Gould, Guinness (Limited) Trust Act, 1934.
I, HARMAN WARREN, Secretary of Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Limited, do solemnly and sincerely declare:
- That the liability of the members is limited.
- That the capital of the company is £500,000, made up as follows—100,000 shares of £1 each fully paid, £100,000; £400,000 "A" and "B" perpetual debenture stock, which ranks for payment after all ordinary creditors, £400,000 : total, £500,000.
- That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates is £423,484 18s. 5d. for the year ended 30th September, 1946.
- That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates is £432,683 3s. 7d. for the year ended 30th September, 1946.
- That the amount of the balance held on 30th September, 1946, to the credit of estates under administration is £61,159 0s. 11d.
- That the liabilities of the company on the 30th September last were £625,330 14s. 1d.
Debts owing to sundry persons by the company, viz: On judgment, nil; on specialty, nil; on terminable debentures, nil; on simple contracts, £625,330 14s. 1d.; on estimated liabilities, nil.
- That the assets of the company on that day were £1,242,768 8s. 6d.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand entitled the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

BOROUGH OF TAKAPUNA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Takapuna Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, being portion of £3,300 authorized to be raised by the Takapuna Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the works for which the Waterworks Improvement Loan, 1942, £23,300, was raised, and of recouping the District Fund for expenditure already incurred on such works, the said Takapuna Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 7/100d. (seven one-hundredths of a penny) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property, comprising the whole of the Borough of Takapuna; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at an ordinary meeting of the Takapuna Borough Council on Tuesday, the 19th November, 1946.

IN LIQUIDATION
NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act, 1933, that a general meeting of the above-named company will be held at the office of the liquidator, 4th Floor, D.I.C. Building, Wellington, on Tuesday, the 10th day of December, 1946, at 2.30 p.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, duly convened and held at the registered office of the company, Tapanui, on the 15th day of November, 1946, the following resolution was duly passed as a special resolution, viz.:-
"That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that EDGAR ARNOLD, of Tapanui, be appointed liquidator."

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Cook County Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of erecting a sexton's cottage at the Makaraka-Taruheru Cemeteries (being the Cook County proportion of a joint loan with the Gisborne Borough Council of £1,500), the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/240d. (one two-hundred-and-fortieth of one penny) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable properties in the Cook County Council Special Rating District, comprising the whole of the rateable properties in the County of Cook (on the basis of unimproved value); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be three and three-eighths per cent."
