any canned fruit to which this Order applies where for any reason extraordinary charges (freight or otherwise) are incurred by the wholesaler or retailer. Any authority given by the Tribunal under this clause may apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of canned fruit or may relate generally to all canned fruit to which this Order applies sold by the wholesaler or retailer while the approval remains in force.

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 629, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 487† (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

This Order shall come into force on the 29th day of November, 1946.

The Schedule to the principal Order is hereby amended as follows :—
(a) By omitting “7s.” from the second column and substituting “7s. 1½d.” :
(b) By omitting “11s.” from the same column and substituting “11s. 9d.” :
(c) By omitting “1s. 4d.” from the third column and substituting “1s. 5d.”.

THE following notice, received by the Minister of Finance from the Mayor of the Borough of Rangiora, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

Result of Poll on Loan Proposal
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll on a loan proposal to raise the sum of £6,200 for the purposes of street improvements, purchase of street-works plant, and Town Hall improvements was taken on Thursday, 7th November, 1946, on behalf of the Rangiora Borough Council. The result was as follows :—

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES
EVIDENCE of the loss of certificate of title, Vol. 707, folio 357 (Auckland Registry), for part Section 1A, Block XVI, of the Rotorua Survey District, in favour of THE CHAIRMAN, COUNCILLORS, AND INHABITANTS OF THE COUNTY OF ROTORUA, for the purposes of a public park and children’s playground, having been lodged with me together with an application for a new certificate of title in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such new certificate of title after fourteen days from 28th November, 1946.

HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £74,300, authorized to be raised by the Hastings Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of carrying out road sealing and footpath formation, extension of water mains, improvements to storm-water drainage system, and sewerage extensions, the said Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ninety-two one-hundredths (92/100ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property appearing on the valuation roll of the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be due and payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Hastings Borough Council held on Thursday, 17th October, 1946.
