HIS Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased, in pursuance of section 2 (1) (f) of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum Amendment Act, 1936, to appoint Ernest William Hunt, Esquire, of Wellington, to be a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum for a term of three years, as on and from 27th November, 1946.

Notice of Appointment of an Honorary Fishery Officer for the Purposes of Part I of the Fisheries Act, 1908

IT is hereby notified that the Hon. Minister of Marine has, in pursuance of section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946, this day appointed

to be an Honorary Fishery Officer for the purposes of Part I of the Fisheries Act, 1908, to hold office until the 31st day of March, 1947.

Defining Lands in Auckland Land District (Whataroa Farm Settlement) to which Water is supplied pursuant to Section 8 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection (5) of section 8 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939, I, Benjamin Roberts, acting for the Minister of Lands, hereby give notice that the lands defined in the Schedule hereto are lands to which water is supplied under the said section.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Waitomo County, containing by admeasurement a total area of 766 acres 1 rood 34 perches, more or less, being Sections 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, and 34, Block II, Otanake Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 36/1452, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (S.O. plan 32828.)

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 10th day of January, 1946, at page 24 :

And whereas an objection was made by the owners in the manner prescribed by the said Act objecting to the taking of the said lands and claiming the right to retain a part of the said lands :

And whereas the owners withdrew such objection and agreed to an amended vesting date :

And whereas the said lands are not the lands of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said lands are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 28th day of February, 1947, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT

ALL those parcels of land containing four thousand four hundred and seventy-four (4,474) acres three (3) roods twenty-six (26) perches, more or less, situated in Blocks V, VI, IX, and X, Waikohu Survey District, being Lots 3, 4, 7, 22, 23, and Part 12, Deposited Plan 2761, Lot 2, Deposited Plan 2762, and Lots 8 and 9, Deposited Plan 2272, all being parts of Lot 3, Deposited Plan 1558, of part Subdivision 1 of Okahuatiu 1b Block, parts Okahuatiu 1 and 1b 2a Blocks, and part Tangihanga 1c Block, and being the balance of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 45, folio 193 (Gisborne Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing five (5) acres one (1) rood fifteen (15) perches, more or less, situated in Block VI, Waikohu Survey District, being Lots 1 and 2, Deposited Plan 2271, part Okahuatiu No. 1c Block, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 59, folio 160 (Gisborne Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing one (1) acre three (3) roods two (2) perches, more or less, situated in Block VI, Waikohu Survey District, being Section 7x (closed road), part Tangihanga No. 1c Block (S.O. 1236), and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 60, folio 180 (Gisborne Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 31st day of March, 1947, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 15th day of January, 1947, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area of twenty (20) acres twenty-four (24) perches, being Ohanga Block (formerly part Section 56), Block VII, Waitara Survey District, and being all of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 91, folio 87 (Taranaki Registry).
