The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of
Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
3rd day of March, 1947, as the date on which possession of the
land is required, and the 18th day of November, 1946, as the date
on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of
the said Act.

SCHEDULE

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in Block III, Te Mata Survey District,
containing by admeasurement eight (8) acres three (3) roods eighteen
decimal seven (18·7) perches, more or less, being Lot 7, Deposited
Plan 3470, being part of Te Awa-o-te Atua Block, and being all
the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 61, folio 270 (Hawke’s
Bay Registry).

Also all that area situated in Block XI, Heretaunga Survey
District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and three
(103) acres two (2) roods one decimal six two (1·62) perches, more
or less, being part Lot 1, Deposited Plan 2874, and part Lot 86,
Deposited Plan 2366, being part of Heretaunga Block, and being
all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 61, folio 269,
folio 153 (Hawke’s Bay Registry), subject to drainage and ancillary
rights created by Transfer 24218.

Also all that area situated in Blocks I, II, and V, Te Mata
Survey District, containing by admeasurement one thousand six
hundred and seventy-three (1,673) acres one (1) rood and twenty-
five decimal four (25·4) perches, more or less, being part Lot 1,
Deposited Plan 469, part Lot 1, Deposited Plan 593, part Lot 1,
Deposited Plan 704, Lots 3 and 6, Deposited Plan 2144, and all
of Deposited Plan 2242, Lots 1, 2, and 3, Deposited Plan 4123,
and Lot 1, Deposited Plan 4830, being parts of Nos. 4 and 5, Nga-
tarawa Block, and parts of Mangaroa Block, together with the
right-of-way and water rights and incidental rights appurtenant
to parts of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 469, reserved in and by
Transfers Nos. 63100, 63101, and 63361, and being all the land
comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 27, folios 117, 120, 121, 122,
and Vol. 93, folio 127 (Hawke’s Bay Registry).

Also all that area situated in Block I, Te Mata Survey District,
containing by admeasurement three (3) acres and fourteen (14)
perches, part of Ngatarawa No. 5 Block, being the land marked
“Right-of-way, coloured red,” and intersecting certificate of title,
H.B. Vol. 27, folio 120, more particularly shown and marked
“Right-of-way” on Deposited Plan No. 2242 (Hawke’s Bay
Registry).

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Road of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is
inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon
the plan of Town of Taumarunui Extension No. 4, affecting part
Section 28, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, Auckland Land
District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that
the road shown as Hillsview Crescent thereon should be of the
width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him
by section 17, subsection (1) of the Land Act, 1924, and of every
other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth
hereby authorize the laying-off of the road shown as Hillsview
Crescent of a width of not less than 40 ft. : Provided always that it
shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any
building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands this 11th day of
October, 1946.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is
inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown
upon the plan of Town of Bryndwr Extension No 72, affecting
parts Rural Sections 825 and 840, situated in Block X, Christchurch
Survey District, Canterbury Land District, is intended to be used
wholly for residential purposes, that the roads shown as Evatt
Street, Eden Place, and Bateman Avenue thereon should be of the
width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him
by section 17, subsection (1) of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other
power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby
authorize the laying-off of the roads shown as Evatt Street, Eden
Place, and Bateman Avenue of widths not less than 50 ft., 46 ft.,
and 52 ft. respectively : Provided always that it shall not be lawful
for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less
distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such roads.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 11th day of
October, 1946.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Road of less Width than 66 ft.

Sections 45 and 47, Suburban South, situated in Block IV, Waimea
Survey District, Nelson Land District, is intended to be used wholly
for residential purposes, that the road shown as Lot 33 thereon
should be of the width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon
him by section 17, subsection (1) of the Land Act, 1924, and of
every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands
doth hereby authorize the laying-off of the road shown as Lot 33
of a width of not less than 50 ft. : Provided always that it shall
not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any
building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 14th day
of October, 1946.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925.—Notice of
Proposed Cancellation of Registration

Wellington, 11th October, 1946.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an application in
that behalf made to me by the Taranaki Bacon Workers’
Industrial Union of Workers, registered No. 1465, situated at
Hawera, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by
section 22 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925,
it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union
after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication
of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown
to the contrary.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part
III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

P. R. Jenkins, 110 Khyber Pass Road, Auckland, has applied
for a license to manufacture women’s and children’s footwear by
the machine-sewn and riveted processes, with Cuban, leather, and
wedge heels.

G. A. Papageorge, 48 Coutts Street, Kilbirnie, has applied for
a license to manufacture for sale through own shop, men’s, women’s,
and children’s shoes, and sandals by the machine-sewn and fair-
stitched processes, men’s and boys’ boots and shoes by the riveted
process, and leather slippers by the machine-sewn process.

E. Bowers, 80 Manners Street, Wellington, has applied for an
extension of his existing license so as to permit the manufacture
of slippers by the machine-sewn process.

R. C. and F. G. Ward, 318 Dominion Road, Auckland, have
applied for a license to manufacture women’s shoes and sandals
and children’s boots and shoes by the machine-sewn and cemented
processes.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

Griffen and Smith, Ltd., Henley Street, Westport, have applied
for a license to resell motor-spirit otherwise than through a pump
from stocks to be kept in a depot established on the company’s
premises at Henley Street, Westport.

J. Houlden, 225 Pine Avenue, New Brighton, Christchurch,
has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be
installed on garage premises being erected at Tai Tapu.

G. L. Eaton, Te Hiko Street, Titahi Bay, has applied for a
license to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on
service-station premises at Titahi Bay.

Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., P.O. Box 112, Christchurch, has
applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be
installed on merchant’s premises at High Street, Hawarden, and
otherwise than through a pump from stocks to be kept in a depot
on the same premises.

Oamaru Motors, Ltd., Severn Street, Oamaru, has applied for
permission to transfer the company’s license in respect of three
pumps only to the site of proposed new service-station premises
at the corner of Thames Highway and Lynn Street, Oamaru.

R. A. Barlow, Moerewa, has applied for a license to resell motor-
spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Moerewa.

Hopkins, Speirs, and Winger, Ltd., Puketi, has applied for a
license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on sawmill
premises at Puketi (National Park).

M. E. Gard, Mairi Road, Silverstream, has applied for a license
to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on garage
and service-station premises on the Main Road at Silverstream.

N.Z. Farmers’ Co-operative Distribution Co., Ltd., 64 Hautapu
Street, Taihape, has applied for variation of the conditions of the
company’s existing motor-spirits reseller’s license to permit the
resale of motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on merchant’s
premises, 64 Hautapu Street, Taihape.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
these applications should, not later than the 31st day of October,
1946, submit any written evidence and representations they may
desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to the
Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
