Notice of Intention to take Land in the Borough of Opotiki for Housing Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Opotiki and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 3 acres 0 roods 0·7 perches.
Being Allotments 122, 123, and 124 of Section 2, Town of Opotiki.
Situated in the Borough of Opotiki (Gisborne R.D.). (S.O. 4373.)

In the Gisborne Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 124201, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged orange.

Special Order made by the Eyre County Council declaring that Sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to that Council

THE following special order made by the Eyre County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER

“ That, in pursuance and exercise of the power vested in it in that behalf by section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, the Eyre County Council hereby declares that sections one hundred and twenty-one and one hundred and thirty-one of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to the Eyre County Council.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a special order duly made and confirmed at a meeting of the Eyre County Council held on 9th September, 1946.

Approval of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Revoking Extended-river and Partially Smooth-water Limits for the Port of Whakatane and defining Others in lieu thereof

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 189 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, I, James O’Brien, Minister of Marine, do hereby revoke the Whakatane extended-river and partially smooth-water limits, as defined by Warrant dated the 2nd day of August, 1934, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 9th August, 1934, at page 2457, and do hereby define the following extended-river and partially smooth-water limits for the Port of Whakatane in lieu thereof:—

“ Inside a line extending 045° for 7½ miles from the western point of the River Matata outlet as charted on Admiralty Chart No. 2527, dated 23rd July, 1906, and thence direct to Opape Point.”

The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice fixing Prices of certain Grades

Wellington, 27th September, 1946.

PURSUANT to Regulation 5:1 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

The prices of Preferred Commercial and Commercial Grades are fixed on a basic rate of 4s. 8d. per loose bushel.

Period of delivery (both days inclusive): 1st October, to 31st October, 1946:—

Loose packed fresh lemons, Preferred Commercial Grade .. 6 6
Loose packed fresh lemons, Commercial Grade .. 5 0
Loose packed fresh lemons, First-grade Peel .. 4 9
