subclause (2) of clause 9 of the regulations cited in the notice. It
is not the intention of the Tribunal to exercise its powers of pro-
hibition (except in the event of special circumstances) for at least
four weeks after the publication of the above notice in the Gazette.
With respect to goods of the kinds specified in the Schedule to the
notice the Tribunal advises that application for its approval of
proposed prices should be made to the Tribunal as soon as possible,
and draws attention of all persons concerned to the fact that, at
any time after the expiration of four weeks from the publication
of the notice, it may proceed, in accordance with the powers con-
ferred on it by the regulations, to prohibit the sale of any such goods
otherwise than at the prices fixed or approved by the Tribunal.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the City of
Hamilton taken on the 19th day of June, 1946, on the proposal
to borrow the sum of £130,000 for the provision of concrete
kerbing and channelling and bituminous footpaths throughout the
city, the number of votes recorded was—

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I
hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Waitomo
Electric-power District was taken on the 2nd day of August, 1946,
on the proposal of the Waitomo Electric-power Board to borrow the
sum of £20,000 for the purpose of additions and extensions to the
existing reticulation system and providing for additions and altera-
tions to existing offices, workshops, and storerooms at Te Kuiti
and Otorohanga.

III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
Willow Products Co., 31 Moxham Avenue, Hataitai, Wellington,
have applied for a license to manufacture children’s boots and
shoes, sizes 8 to 10 and 11 to 2, by the cemented, machine-sewn,
and riveted processes.
A. Pellow, 28 Pitt Street, Palmerston North, has applied for
an extension of his existing license so as to permit the manufacture
of dancing-pumps, sizes 2’s to 7’s, in addition to the sizes already
authorized.
Manufacture of Malt Extract
The Wilson Malt Extract Co., Ltd., Dunedin, has applied for
permission to extend the factory premises and to install one
additional complete unit for the manufacture of malt extract.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
D. C. M. Smith, 22 Long Street, Woolston, Christchurch, has
applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from proposed service-
station premises, 859 Ferry Road, Christchurch.
The Farmers’ Co-operative Organization Society of N.Z.,
Limited, Opunake, has applied for permission to shift one pump
from its present position outside the company’s old premises to a
new position in an open yard at the rear of the company’s new
building.
Newton King, Ltd, Opunake, has applied for a license to resell
motor-spirit from one pump to be installed in an open yard at the
rear of the company’s premises in Tasman Street, Opunake.
Manurewa Motors, Manurewa, has applied for a license to re-
sell motor-spirit form one pump to be installed on garage premises
at Manurewa.
E. W. Sutherland and C. F. Docherty, Makikihi, have applied
for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed
outside garage premises at Makikihi.
T. L. Brown, 85 King Street, Whakatane, has applied for a
license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on
proposed store premises at Ngakura.
A. L. Thomas, Tussock Creek, Southland, has applied for a
license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store
premises at Tussock Creek.
Airwork (N.Z.), Ltd., Harewood, Christchurch, has applied for
a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed at
Harewood Airport, Christchurch.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
these applications should, not later than the 5th day of September,
1946, submit any written evidence and representations they may
desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to the
Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
