Waterfront Industry Emergency Regulations 1946.—Appointment of Greymouth Port Committee
PURSUANT to the Waterfront Industry Emergency Regulations 1946, the Minister of Labour doth hereby appoint the following persons to be the Port Committee for the Port of Greymouth for a term expiring on the 30th day of April, 1947:—
Donald David Alexander McPherson, Chairman; and
Louis Henry Oscar Bohmann, Andrew Lindsay McKay, Clifford Edmund Heaphy, and Douglas Joseph Rutter (nominated by the New Zealand Waterside Employers’ Association Industrial Association of Employers); and
William Meates, Harry Outram, Ernest Hillman, and Albert Panther (nominated by the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Industrial Union of Workers).

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed
JOHN DUDLEY WESTGARTH, Esquire, of Sydney, in New South Wales, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Honourable Humphrey Francis O’Leary, Chief Justice of New Zealand, a commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Appointing the Time and Place for the First Meeting of the Hauraki Catchment Board
PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, the Minister of Works doth hereby appoint Thursday, the 29th day of August, 1946, at 11 o’clock a.m. as the time, and the office of the Thames Valley Electric-power Board at Te Aroha as the place, for holding the first meeting of the Hauraki Catchment Board.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block V, Kumeu Survey District, for Sand-dune Reclamation
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for sand-dune reclamation: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Woodhill and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 13th day of September, 1945, at page 1147:
And whereas objections were made by the owners in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said lands:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the objections have been referred did on the 9th day of May, 1946, make an order allowing the objections subject to the owners consenting to taking of the land specified in the Second Schedule hereto and subject to the date of vesting of such area being the 1st day of May, 1947:
And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 1st day of May, 1947, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
FIRST SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing three hundred and seven (307) acres two (2) roods five (5) perches, more or less, being Section 4 and part Section 5, Block XII, Ngaere Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 47, folio 88.
Also all that parcel of land containing forty-four (44) acres three (3) roods, more or less, being part Tutaeariari Block No. 1 on Deposited Plan 1715, in Block XII, Ngaere Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 47, folio 4.
Also all that parcel of land containing two hundred (200) acres, more or less, being Section 30, Block XIV, Ngaere Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 37, folio 176.
Also all that parcel of land containing one hundred and fifty-seven (157) acres three (3) roods thirty-one decimal nine (31·9) perches, more or less, being part Sections 1 and 2, Block XIV, Ngaere Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 25, folio 79, excepting thereout the land taken by Proclamation No. 1525 (Taranaki Registry).
