The Enemy Trading (Italy) Notice 1946 PURSUANT to clause (2) of Regulation 5 of the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939, the Minister of Industries and Commerce doth hereby give notice as follows :— 1. This notice may be cited as the Enemy Trading (Italy) Notice 1946. 2. The Enemy Trading (Italy) Notice 1945† is revoked. 3. Notwithstanding anything contained in Regulation 2 of the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939, any person, unless the Minister of Industries and Commerce otherwise directs, may, except as provided in clause 4 hereof, trade within Italy with the Italian State or with any individual or body of persons whether corporate or unincorporate carrying on business therein. 4. The license comprised in this notice shall not extend to or authorize— (1) The performance of any contract of insurance or reinsurance entered into with or for the benefit of any person within the description contained in clause 3 hereof before the 5th day of September, 1945 : (2) The payment of any bill of exchange payable in New Zealand and drawn before the 5th day of September, 1945, to or for the benefit of any such person as aforesaid : (3) The encashment of any coupons by or on behalf of any such person as aforesaid. 5. For the purpose of this notice “trade” is confined to supplying any goods to or for the benefit of the Italian State or any individual or body of persons whether corporate or unincorporate carrying on business therein, or to obtaining goods from the Italian State or any such individual or body of persons as aforesaid, but is deemed to include— (a) Transactions incidental to supplying or obtaining such goods : (b) The paying, transmitting, or receiving of any money, negotiable instrument, or security for money in respect of such trade.
