PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of scientific and industrial research (experimental orchard, Earnsclough); and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the eighth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six.
