(5) Railways: Improved rail facilities for all classes of traffic,
including:—
(a) Rail link from Putaruru via Tokoroa and Atiamuri towards
Taupo, involving reconstruction to Government railway
standards of the Taupo Totara Timber Company’s
Tramway to the 19-mile peg and construction of new
line thence towards Taupo:
(b) Frankton Junction to Te Kuiti: Grade and curvature
easements, involving deviation from existing alignment:
(c) Auckland–Frankton: Completion of duplication between
Paerata and Ohinewai:
(d) Frankton Junction: Separation of goods and passenger
traffic, with provision of new and more suitable buildings:
(e) Yard rearrangement and duplication of line from Frankton
through Hamilton to Ruakura, with elimination of level
crossings and new double-track bridge over the Waikato.
(6) Public Transport: New and improved facilities for the
transport of passengers and goods.

Utilities
(a) Extension of utilities through new and existing residential,
commercial, and industrial areas, and in rural areas.
(b) Electricity: Construction of hydro-electric generating
stations, utilizing the fall of the Waikato River between Lake Taupo
and Cambridge, including construction of lakes at Karapiro, Waipapa,
Maraetai, Whakamaru, Atiamuri, Ohakuri, Parariki, and at two
other sites.
(c) Extension of transmission lines, construction of substations,
and other works necessary for distribution of electricity.
(d) Extensions and improvements of water-supply, gas-supply,
sewerage, and storm-water systems generally in the area, and in
particular in Hamilton City, and new sewerage scheme in Huntly
Borough. -
Subdivisional Development and Housing
(a) The development of areas for residential, commercial,
industrial, and recreational purposes throughout the area, including
the construction of dwellinghouses and other works provided for by
the Housing Act, 1919, and other statutory authorities.
(b) The subdivision, regrouping, and improvement of lands
affected by reclamation and drainage works in the area and better
utilization thereof.
(c) The reconstruction and improvement, where necessary, of
existing roads, streets, and bridges approaching developmental works.
(d) The removal and resiting of Tokaanu Township.
(e) Hostel for miners at Huntly. -
Social and Cultural Services
(1) The provision of sites, buildings, and services throughout the
area for social and cultural services, including:—
(a) New hospitals and ancillary buildings for the Waikato
Hospital District at Hamilton, Te Kuiti, Huntly, Te
Awamutu, and Putaruru, and new tuberculosis
sanatorium:
(b) Additions to Tokanui Mental Hospital:
(c) Soil Fertility Research Station in the vicinity of Hamilton:
(d) Animal Research Station Laboratory at Ruakura:
(e) The rebuilding of the primary school at Cambridge and the
provision of two intermediate schools, the extension of
the technical school, and the provision of a new secondary
school and hostel at Hamilton:
(f) The provision of recreational and general amenity reserves
in the vicinities of the lakes formed by the hydro-electric
developments and at natural lakes and tourist resorts:
(g) Provision of town hall and cultural halls, community
centre, showgrounds, baths, crematorium, improved
parks, reserves, and playing fields for Hamilton City. -
Defence
Construction and improvement of defence installations. -
Public Administration
New facilities for Government and local administration,
including:—
(a) Construction of a Government centre in Hamilton for the
accommodation of various Departments and transaction
of public business:
(b) New police-stations.

easterly along a right line to Trigonometrical Station 1992, Block V,
Waitoa Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line
to Trigonometrical Station 1993, Hangawera, on the southern
boundary of Block IX, Waitoa Survey District; thence south-
easterly generally along a right line to Trigonometrical Station
Maungatapu, Block VII, Maungakawa Survey District, and a right
line to Trigonometrical Station R on the southern boundary of
Block XIV, Wairere Survey District; thence southerly along a
right line to Trigonometrical Station Whakaaratamaiti, Block VII,
Patetere North Survey District; thence south-easterly generally
along a right line to Trigonometrical Station Ohinepuremu, Block
VII, Patetere North-east Survey District, and a right line to
Trigonometrical Station Wairua, Block XV, Tarawera Survey
District; thence easterly generally along a right line to Trigono-
metrical Station Maratahia, Block XIV, Ruawahia Survey District,

Harbour to the sea-coast; thence northerly generally along the
sea-coast, crossing the mouths of all streams, rivers, inlets, estuaries,
bays, harbours, outlets, ports, bights, and firths whatsoever, and
their banks, beds, and waters to a point in line with the production
of the right line between Trigonometrical Station Bald Hill, Block
XIII, Drury Survey District, and Trigonometrical Station 34,
Block XI, Awhitu Survey District, being the point of commencement.
