The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged
Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the
Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land
described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the
Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the Ist day of May, 1946, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 1st day of July, 1946, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT
ALL, that area of two hundred and thirty-five (235) acres three (3) roods, being Lot 1, Deposited Plan 2902, and being part of Huiakama Block, situated in Block XIV, Ngatimaru Survey District, and being all of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 86, folio 228 (Taranaki Registry).

declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged
Servicemen

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the

Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 19th day of October, 1945, make an order determining the basic value of the land:

And whereas an appeal was lodged by the owner against the order determining the basic value:

And whereas the Land Sales Court has allowed such appeal in part and fixed a higher basic value.

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 1st day of July, 1946, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL, that area of one hundred and thirteen (113) acres and ten (10) perches, being part Sections 9 and 10, Karere District, and comprising Lots 15, 16, and 17 of Block I, on Deposited Plan 2848, Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, together with water rights over Lot 24 on said deposited plan granted by Transfer 134091, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 272, folio 289 (Wellington Registry): Subject to drainage rights reserved by and to fencing covenant contained in Transfer 134091, and subject also to drainage easement contained in Transfer 93486.

Also all that area of ninety (90) acres, being part Section 9, Karere Block, Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 330, folio 228 (Wellington Registry), subject to Grant of Easement No. 112529 (205/270).

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
A. L. Lyall, Dannevirke, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at 27 Gordon Street, Dannevirke.

H. C. Harwood, Pokaka, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on the kerbside at store premises, Pokaka.

A. J. Wall, Main South Road, Harihari, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises on the Main South Road, Harihari.

R. Wyatt, Pakiri, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Leigh.

Penrose Transport, Ltd., 35 Station Road, Penrose, Auckland, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at 35 Station Road, Penrose.

Awanui Garage, Ltd., Main Road, Awanui, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on garage premises at Awanui.

E. E. Porter, Waikanae, has applied for permission to shift five pumps from their present position on premises at Reikorangi Road to a new site on the Main Road at Waikanae.

T. C. and D. R. Browne, Aria, have applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at the Piopio-Aria-Totara Road Junction.

F. and A. Thomson, Tuatapere, have applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on new garage premises at Tuatapere.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than the 27th day of June, 1946, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to the Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
