Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed
ARTHUR CHARLES KENNEDY, Esquire, of Sydney, in New South Wales, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers, G.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Ohura County—
All that area at Matiere consisting of—
(1) Mangatupoto–Ohura Main Highway No. 350, commencing at a point 3 chains measured in a south-westerly direction along the said main highway from its junction with the Ohura–Mokau Road, and terminating at a point 5 chains measured in a south-easterly direction along the said main highway from its junction with Phillips Street, a distance of approximately 50 chains; and
(2) Ohura–Mokau Road, commencing at a point 15 chains measured in a north-westerly direction along the said road from its junction with the Mangatupoto–Ohura Main Highway, and terminating at the said junction, the whole area being indicated in green on the plan marked TT. 1686, deposited in the office of the Transport Department at Wellington.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 16th day of April, 1946, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 14th day of June, 1946, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area of ten (10) acres, being part Ngakauoro No. 2F, being Lots 17 and 18, Deposited Plan No. 2576, Kaitawa Survey District, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 227, folio 77 (Wellington Registry).
