Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III

of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

R. A. Campbell, 244A Ponsonby Road, Auckland, has applied

for a license to manufacture children's shoes and sandals and men's

and women's sandals.

J. Hook, 320 Jackson Street, Petone, has applied for a license

to manufacture women's footwear of the open-sandal type by the

auto-soled and machine-sewn processes.

British Shoes, Ltd., 196 Wordsworth Street, Christchurch, has

applied for an extension of its existing license so as to permit the

manufacture of maids' shoes, sizes 2-7, by the cement process.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

A. Vaile, corner of Bucklands Avenue and Eastern Beach Road,

Bucklands Beach, has applied for a variation of his existing motor-

spirits retail license to permit of (1) the shifting of the present pump

from a position inside the building to a site in the open, and (2) the

installation of two additional pumps.

H. F. McConnell, Studholme Street, Morrinsville, has applied

for permission to shift two pumps from their present position on

the kerbside to a new site on a section adjoining the garage premises.

Monarch Motors, Ltd., 101 Hastings Street, Napier, has applied

for permission to transfer the company's motor-spirits retail license

from premises 101 Hastings Street, Napier, to a position at the

kerbside at proposed new premises on the opposite side of Hastings

Street, Napier.

R. H. Leece and Co., Ltd., Princes Street, Hawera, has applied

for permission to transfer the company's motor-spirits retail license

from premises in Princes Street, Hawera, to a new site in Regent

Street, Hawera.

K. G. Gray, corner of Park and Thames Streets, Morrinsville,

has applied for permission to transfer his motor-spirits retail license

in respect of eight pumps from premises at the corner of Park and

Thames Streets, Morrinsville, to a new site at the south-west corner

at the intersection between Park and Thames Streets, Morrinsville.

Mrs. E. Martin, corner of Park and Thames Streets, Morrinsville,

has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from eight pumps

installed on service-station premises at the corner of Park and

Thames Streets, Morrinsville.

L. R. Thornton, Masterton, has applied for a license to resell

motor-spirits from proposed service-station premises to be erected

between the Bridges, High Street, Masterton.

J. A. Armstrong, Kumara Road, Aria, has applied for a license

to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service-

station premises, Kumara Road, Aria.

I. A. Neal, Ferry Road, Spring Creek, has applied for a license

to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on the kerbside

fronting garage premises, Ferry Road, Spring Creek.

H. W. Mensforth, Hammond Street, Marton, has applied for a

license to resell motor-spirit from pumps to be installed on garage

premises, Hammond Street, Marton.

J. D. Ross and N. E. Todd, corner of Lamb and Carlyle Streets,

Leamington, have applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one

pump to be installed on garage premises at the corner of Lamb and

Carlyle Streets, Leamington.

G. H. Hibbs, Kumara Junction, has applied for a license to

resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on the kerbside

fronting store premises, Kumara Junction.

K. Rowling, Tauhei R.D., Morrinsville, has applied for a license

to resell motor-spirit from four pumps to be installed on store

premises, Tauhei.

J. H. Still, Benneydale, has applied for a license to resell motor-

spirit from one pump installed on premises, Benneydale.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be

materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on

these applications should, not later than the 26th day of April, 1946,

submit any written evidence and representations they may desire

to tender. All communications should be addressed to the Secretary,

Bureau of Industry, P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Excluding Land from the Tikitere Development Scheme

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Native Land

Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby

revokes, so far as it affects the land described in the Schedule hereto

a certain notice dated the 29th day of May, 1933, and published

in Gazette No. 46 of the 22nd day of June of the same year at page

1657, whereby the provisions of subsection (3) of section 522 of the

Native Land Act, 1931 (now Part I of the Native Land Amendment

Act, 1936), were applied to, inter alia, the said land, and such land

is hereby excluded from the Tikitere Development Scheme.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area of land in the Waiariki Native Land Court District

containing 22 acres, more or less, situate in Block X, Rotoiti Survey

District, being that portion of Mourea-Papakainga 3E 14F Block,

known as Motutawa Peninsula, and shown on Plan 13736, red,

deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland.

Dated at Wellington, this 4th day of April, 1946.

Economic Stabilization Emergency Regulations 1942.-Wartime Price

Index

IN accordance with Regulation 41 of the Economic Stabilization

Emergency Regulations 1942, it is hereby notified that the

wartime price index as at the 15th day of March, 1946 (on base:

15th December, 1942=1000), was 1009. This figure indicates

that, after seasonal adjustment has been made in respect of certain

commodities the prices of which are subject to seasonal movement,

the general level of prices of commodities, &c., included in the

wartime price index was 0·9 per cent. higher at 15th March, 1946,

than at 15th December, 1942.
