THE following special order made by the Bruce County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER

“That, in accordance with section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, the Council declares that sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to the Bruce County Council as from the 31st day of March, 1946.”

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Revocation of Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 32 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, the Minister of Lands doth hereby revoke the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 80 of 19th December, 1945, at page 1576, declaring that the land described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing one hundred (100) acres three (3) roods and eight one-hundredths (0·08) of a perch, being Section 24 of Selection Block 2, Douglas Block, being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 36, folio 132 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that area containing fifty-one (51) acres one (1) rood twenty-nine (29) perches, being part Section 25 of Selection Block 2, Douglas Block, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 37, folio 36 (Wellington Registry).

As witness my hand, this 8th day of April, 1946.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 19th day of February, 1946, make an order determining the basic value of the land :

And whereas an appeal was lodged by the owner against the order determining the basic value :

And whereas the owner has withdrawn such appeal :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 18th day of April, 1946, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area of two hundred and forty-seven (247) acres one (1) rood seventeen and six-tenths (17·6) perches, more or less, situate in Block XV of the Ikitara Survey District, being parts of Sections 29, 30, and 31, Turakina District, and being that portion of the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 342, folio 129 (Wellington Registry), exclusive of twenty (20) acres to the east of the Great North-western Road as defined in Proclamation No. 2340.

Also all that area containing one (1) acre thirty-three and six-tenths (33·6) perches, more or less, situate in the Lethbridge Town District, and being parts Sections 29 and 30, Turakina District, and being also Lot 3 on Deposited Plan No. 6704 and Lot 5 on Deposited Plan No. 2771, and being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 323, folio 142 (Wellington Registry).

And also all that area containing three (3) acres twenty-five and eight-tenths (25·8) perches, more or less, situate in Block XV, Ikitara Survey District, and being closed road adjoining or passing through Sections 30 and 31, Turakina District, and being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 442, folio 267 (Wellington Registry).

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, Part II (Unclaimed Lands)

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have for the purposes of Part II of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (relating to unclaimed lands), made due inquiry with respect to the lands described in the Schedule hereunder and the whereabouts of the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said lands, given the notices prescribed by section 66 of that Act and have in all respects complied with the provisions of that Act pertinent hereto : And whereas the owner has not established his title to the said lands as required by that Act, I hereby give notice that the said lands are under and by virtue of that Act vested in the Public Trustee as aforesaid as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, the value of the lands for the purposes of section 67 (d) of that Act being less than five hundred pounds (£500).

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Thomas Adam Hannah, of the Public Trust Office, Napier, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Napier, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous Warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.
