CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the County of Clifton proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, to take all that piece of land containing 1 rood, more or less, being Town Allotment 99 on the public maps of the Urenui Township—for the purpose of a site for the storage and fabrication of materials and storage and repair of vehicles, machinery, and other plant for use by or on behalf of the said Corporation in carrying out any public works which the Council of the county may be lawfully authorized to carry out.

Plans of the land required to be taken as aforesaid with such land outlined in red thereon are deposited for public inspection at Dunbar’s Store at Urenui and at the offices of Mr. D. G. Davis, Solicitor, Waitara.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said land, and to send such writing, within forty days of the first publication of this notice, to the Clifton County Council at its offices in Queen Street in the Borough of Waitara.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE

PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act, 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Alexandra taken on the 8th day of March, 1946, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said borough be on the unimproved value, the number of votes recorded was as follows :—

For the proposal . . . . 150
Against the proposal . . . . 93
Informal . . . . 3

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between ARCHIBALD SPENCE THOMSON and GEORGE WASHINGTON BROWN, of Dunedin, Plumbers, and carrying on business at Princes Street, Dunedin, under the name or style “Thomson and Brown,” has been dissolved by mutual consent, and all accounts owing to the above partnership are to be paid to GEORGE WASHINGTON BROWN, who will carry on the business under the name or style of “Thomson and Brown.”
