Appointment of Inspector of Sea-fishing

Marine Department,
Wellington, 8th March, 1946.

BY direction of the Hon. Minister of Marine, it is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed

Vivian John Cosgrave, of Foxton,

to be an Inspector of Sea-fishing for the purposes of Part I of the first-mentioned Act.

Notice of Intention to take Land in the City of Auckland for Housing Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Auckland and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.


SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the pieces of land required to be taken:
25 acres 0 roods 11·1 perches.
Being Lots 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10, D.P. 32360, and part Lot 2, D.P. 20163, and being part of Allotments 43 and 44, District of Tamaki.

Situated in Block II, Otahuhu Survey District (City of Auckland) (Auckland R.D.).

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 123073, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Feilding and Palmerston North Fire Boards

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth appoint Monday, the 25th March, 1946, to be the date for holding the election of one member of each of the Feilding and Palmerston North Fire Boards by the insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. L. A. Hutton.

Duncan.

S. Warwick.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Town District of Kawhia

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 12th March, 1946.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Town District of Kawhia and included in the County of Kawhia.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE TOWN DISTRICT OF KAWHIA AND INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF KAWHIA

ALL that area of approximately 180 acres in the Kawhia Town District, situated in Blocks V, VI, IX, and X, Kawhia North Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at a point being the eastern corner of Kawhia R Part 2B 2 Block, and running easterly generally along the southern boundary of Kawhia O No. 2 Section 7 Block, to and across Pirongia Road to the southern corner of Poko-o-Riri B Block; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned block, and along the south-western boundary of part Kawhia O No. 2 Section 8 Block, to the shores of the Kawhia Harbour; thence southerly generally along the shore of the Kawhia Harbour aforesaid to the northernmost point of Motutara Street; thence westerly generally along the northern boundary of that street, along the northern boundaries of Sections 8 and 7, Block III, Te Puru Township, to and across the said Pirongia Road to the western corner of Section 34, Block II, of the said Te Puru Township; thence along the northern boundary of that section, and the northern boundaries of Sections 16, 15, and 14 of the said Block II, along the northern boundary of Huturoa Street, along the northern boundaries of Sections 14, 13, 15, 16, 17, and 18, Block I, Te Puru Township, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Section 3, Block X, Kawhia North Survey District, and the north-western boundary of part Section 1, Block XI, Kawhia Township, to and along the northern side of Rosamond Terrace to Cowell Street; thence northerly generally along the eastern side of that street, to and along the eastern boundary of Kawhia P No. 8 Section 2 Block, to and along another part of the eastern side of Cowell Street aforesaid to the angle on the western boundary of Kawhia P 7c Block, along a right line, across Cowell Street aforesaid to the southern corner of the western portion of Kawhia P 7B Block, again along the eastern and part northern boundaries of the said Kawhia P No. 8 Section 2 Block, along part of the eastern boundary of Kawhia G 2A Block, to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of Kawhia G 2B Block, and the south-eastern boundaries of Kawhia R 2A 9 and Part 2B. 2 Block, to the point of commencement.
