Appointing a Non-elective Member of the Nelson Catchment Board

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 48 of the eighth day of the same month, Frederick William Lindup, Esquire, A.M.I.C.E., District Engineer, Public Works Department, Nelson, was appointed a non-elective member of the Nelson Catchment Board, in terms of section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941 :
And whereas the said Frederick William Lindup has resigned from membership of the said Board, and it is considered expedient to appoint another non-elective member in lieu of the said Frederick William Lindup :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby cancel the appointment of the said Frederick William Lindup to be a non-elective member of the Nelson Catchment Board and do hereby appoint
Roy Lancaster, Esquire, Resident Engineer, Public Works Department, Nelson,
to be a non-elective member of the Nelson Catchment Board for a term commencing on the fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, and terminating on the twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 11th day of March, 1946.

Arrangements for taking Poll respecting Proposed Borough of Papatoetoe
C. L. N. NEWALL, Governor-General
PURSUANT to the powers vested in me in that behalf by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby direct that a poll shall be taken on the proposal that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a borough under the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, by name the Borough of Papatoetoe ; and, further, I do hereby make the following appointments and arrangements for the purpose of taking the said poll :—

Lester Butters, Esquire, of Papatoetoe, to be the Returning Officer for the purpose of taking the said poll, and also to be the person authorized to prepare a voters’ roll of the persons entitled to vote at the said poll.

The voters’ roll prepared and signed by the said Lester Butters shall be the voters’ roll to be used at the said poll.

The said poll shall be taken on Saturday, the eleventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, and shall close at six o’clock in the afternoon of that day.

Except as herein provided, the poll shall be taken as nearly as may be in the manner provided by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and the Returning Officer hereby appointed shall be deemed to be a Returning Officer appointed for the purpose of that Act.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, situated in Manurewa Parish, bounded : Commencing at a point on the south-eastern side of Portage Road at the south-western corner of Lot 13 on D.P. 9822, in a north-easterly direction generally along the south-eastern side of Portage Road to the northernmost corner of Lot 27 on D.P. 9822 ; thence along a right line across Portage Road to a point bearing 115° 49′ and distant 39·53 links from the south-western corner of Lot 13 on D.P. 20144 ; thence along a right line to the south-western corner of Lot 13 aforesaid, and along the north-eastern side of Buckland Road for a distance of 700·47 links to a point on the south-western boundary of Lot 7 on D.P. 20144 ; thence along a right line passing through Lots 7, 8, 85, 84, 83, 82, 81, 80, 79, 78, 77, 76, and 74 on D.P. 20144, across Rosebank Road, and through Lot 32 on D.P. 20144, Lots 18, 17, and 16 on D.P. 19344, across Milton Road, and through Lot 38 on D.P. 19344 and Lots 11, 10, 9, and 8 on D.P. 19345, to a point on the western side of Grey Avenue, distant 1250 links from its junction with Portage Road ; thence along the production of the last-mentioned right line to the eastern side of Grey Avenue ; thence along the eastern side of Grey Avenue to the south-western corner of Lot 2 on Deeds Registration Plan Whau 87 ; thence in a generally easterly direction along the southern boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid to and along the North Island Main Trunk Railway to its intersection with the south-eastern side of Portage Road ; thence across the said railway to and along the south-eastern side of Portage Road to the Tamaki River ; thence along a right line across Tamaki River to the south-western corner of part Allotment 14, Manurewa Parish, shown on D.P. 3156 ; thence along the southern boundary of part Allotment 14 and the south-western boundary of part Lot 40 of Allotment 36, Manurewa Parish, shown on D.P. 3156, to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 39 on D.P. 16884, to and across Cornwall Road, and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 1 on D.P. 15277 and the north-western boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 18367 to the north-western boundary
