SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—ROTORUA CONSERVANCY
Kaingaroa-Rotorua Fire District
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, Tauranga, Matamata,
Taupo, Rotorua, and Whakatane Counties, containing approximately 1,340,000 acres, and bounded generally as follows : Commencing at Awakaponga Railway-station on the East Coast Main Trunk Railway ; thence generally in a south-westerly direction along the north-western side of a public road and the north-western side of the Rotorua-Whakatane Road to the western boundary of Whakatane County ; thence southwards by that boundary to the northern boundary of permanent State forest (Gazette, 1931, page 3412); thence in an easterly direction by the boundary of the permanent State forest aforesaid and the Pokairoa Stream to the Rangitaiki River; thence proceeding generally southward along the left banks of the Rangitaiki and Whirinaki Rivers to a point on the left bank of the last-named river, situated 40 chains eastward of the right bank of the Rangitaiki River; thence generally southward along a line parallel to and situated 40 chains to the eastward of the right banks of the Rangitaiki and Whaeo Rivers to the Mangaretu Stream ; thence southward along the said stream and the eastern boundaries of Heruiwi No. 4 Nos. 2 and 1 to Trig. Station Tiri Tiri ; thence along the south-eastern boundary of Heruiwi No. 4A No. 1 ; thence southward and westward along the eastern and southern boundaries of Pukahunui No. 2 to an angle in the boundary about 80 chains north-west of a road; thence westward along a straight line for a distance of about 90 chains to Trig. Station No. 52 (Kokomoka) in Block XIII, Heruiwi Survey District ; thence in a south-westerly direction along a straight line to Trig. Station No. 50 (Omeruiti) in Block VII, Maruanui Survey District ; thence in a westerly direction along a straight line to Trig. Station 48A in Block VI, Maruanui Survey District; thence along a straight line to Trig. Station Wairangi in Block VII, Waitahanui Survey District ; thence in a north-westerly direction along a straight line between Trig. Station Wairangi aforesaid and Trig. Station No. 45 in Block XIII, Tauhara Survey District, to the National Park - Taupo State Highway ; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern side of that road to the Hinemaiai Stream, and by that stream to the shores of Lake Taupo ; thence proceeding generally northerly and easterly along the shores of Lake Taupo to the eastern boundary of Whangamata No. 1 Block ; thence generally in a northerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Whangamata Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks, the eastern and northern boundaries of the Tatua Fire District (Gazette, 1936, page 169), the south-eastern and north-eastern and western boundaries of the Tokoroa Fire District (Gazette, 1936, page 169); thence northwards and westwards by the eastern and northern boundaries of the Maraetai Fire District (Gazette, 1936, page 169), to Arapuni Lake; thence in a northerly direction by Arapuni Lake to the Arapuni-Putaruru Main Highway; thence in an easterly direction by the north side of the Arapuni-Putaruru Main Highway and the north side of the Auckland-Rotorua Railway Reserve to the Ngongotaha Stream, and by that stream to the shores of Lake Rotorua ; thence northwards and eastwards by the shores of Lake Rotorua to the Ohau Stream ; thence generally in a northerly direction by that stream to the Te Ngae - Paengaroa Main Highway, and by the western side of that highway to the East Coast Main Trunk Railway Reserve; thence in an easterly direction by the south side of the aforesaid railway reserve to the point of commencement : excepting therefrom the Whakarewarewa Fire District (Gazette, 1922, page 2960), Rotoehu Fire District (Gazette, 1945, page 488), Tahorakuri Fire District (Gazette, 1936, page 169), and Tauhara Fire District (Gazette, 1939, page 182). As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 47/49, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Notice as to an Area in the Auckland Land District declared to be a
Fire District
WHEREAS by section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921-22, as amended by section 6 of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Commissioner of State Forests, on application by any owner or occupier of land, may constitute by notice in the Gazette such land and any other land as a fire district for the purpose of securing the safety from damage by fire of any trees on any private or other lands of an area of not less than 200 acres : And whereas Timberlands Woodpulp Extended, Limited, is the owner of certain lands in the Whakatane County exceeding the said area : And whereas Whakatane Paper Mills, Limited, for and on behalf of the said owner, has made application to me dated 25th of February, 1946, for the constitution of a fire district: And whereas it appears expedient to grant the application:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said Act, I do hereby notify that, on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the Auckland Land District, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared by me to be a fire district, to be known as the “Whakatane Fire District,” for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked); and, with respect to the fire district constituted as aforesaid, I do further specify the period from the 1st day of October in any year

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, Whakatane County, containing approximately 161,000 acres, situated in Rotorua, Rangitaiki Upper, Ruawahia, Rangitaiki Lower, and Galatea Survey Districts, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the east by the Rangitaiki River; towards the south by the Pokairoa Stream and permanent State forest (Gazette, 1931, page 3412); towards the west by the western boundary of Whakatane County; towards the north-west by the north-western side of the Rotorua-Whakatane Road and by the north-western side of a public road to Awakaponga Railway-station; and towards the north-east by the south side of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway Reserve. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 39/3, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944.—Revocation of Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 161 and Amendments
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, the Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby revoke the Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 161, as published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 56 of 30th August, 1945, together with the amendments thereto, as notified in the New Zealand Gazette No. 65 of 18th October, 1945, and No. 5 of 31st January, 1946.
