The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the Gazette on the 14th day of June, 1945, at page 768 :

And whereas an objection was lodged by the owner in the manner prescribed by the said Act to the taking of the said lands :

And whereas the Minister of Lands at the request of the owner agreed to a variation of the area to be taken by the exclusion of part of the said lands :

And whereas the owner withdrew her objection to the taking of the said lands :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 31st day of May, 1946, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.


FIRST SCHEDULE

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT

ALL those parcels of land containing three hundred and forty-nine (349) acres two (2) roods thirty-eight decimal five (38·5) perches, more or less, being part Lot 2 of Section 14, Manutahi Settlement, on Deposited Plan 2260, Block XIV, Hawera Survey District, and part Lot 2, comprising Section 365 and parts Sections 366, 367, and 522, Patea District, on Deposited Plan 2260, Block XV, Hawera Survey District, and being the balance of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 56, folio 225.

Also all that parcel of land containing one hundred and twelve (112) acres ten (10) perches, more or less, being Sections 362 and 363, Patea District, Block XV, Hawera Survey District, being more particularly shown on Deposited Plan 5302, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 134, folio 139.

Also all that parcel of land containing fifty-eight (58) acres three (3) roods three (3) perches, more or less, being part Section 392 on Deposited Plan 135, Patea District, Block XV, Hawera Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 86, folio 141.

Also all that parcel of land containing six (6) acres three (3) roods twenty-three (23) perches, more or less, being Lot 1 of Section 14, Manutahi Settlement, on Deposited Plan 2260, Block XIV, Hawera Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 65, folio 170 (Taranaki Registry).


SECOND SCHEDULE

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT

Four hundred and forty-one (441) acres one (1) rood thirty-eight (38) perches, being Sections 362, 363, 365, and part Sections 366, 367, and 392, Patea District, situated in Block XV, Hawera Survey District (S.O. plan 8200). As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan deposited in Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, under No. 2947, and thereon edged red, and being all the land comprised in certificates of title, Vol. 134, folio 139, and Vol. 86, folio 141, and part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 56, folio 225.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Road of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Raumati Extension No. 68, affecting part Section 1, Wainui Registration District, Block I, Paekakariki Survey District, Wellington Land District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that Huia Road shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby authorize the laying-off of Huia Road of a width of not less than 50 ft. : Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 29th day of November, 1945.

Alteration in Light

Position: South Head: Lat., 45° 07′ S.; long., 170° 59′ E. (approx.).

New Abridged Description: Gp. Fl. (3) 53 sec. 163 ft. 16 M. (U).

Alteration: The light will be altered on 12th December to group flashing having three flashes every 53 seconds with an approximate eclipse of 11·5 seconds between flashes and 25 seconds between groups.

Charts affected: Nos. 2532 and inset, 3629, 1212.

Notice to Mariners No. 39 of 1945

Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 3rd December, 1945.

ALTERATION IN NEW ZEALAND STANDARD TIME

MARINERS are hereby advised that the Standard Time Act, 1945, has been passed by Parliament and will come into force on the 1st January, 1946.

New Zealand standard time by this Act is the time corresponding to the longitude of one hundred and eighty degrees east of Greenwich, being twelve hours in advance of Greenwich mean time.

The Act repeals the Summer Time Act, 1929, and the Summer Time Amendment Act, 1933.

All references in the New Zealand Nautical Almanac and Tide-tables, 1946 edition, to New Zealand mean time and longitude 172°·5 E. should be altered to the new standard time and 180° E., and all times given therein in terms of New Zealand mean time should be increased by thirty minutes to convert them into the new standard time.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

J. W. Moore and Son, Ltd., Nuffield Street, Newmarket, has applied for permission to machine uppers in Thames, in lieu of Hamilton approved by the Bureau of Industry on 29th October, 1945.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

J. M. Robins and A. W. B. Crosbie, 127 Tay Street, Invercargill, have applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one petrol pump to be installed at the above garage and service-station premises.

C. Jackson, Mangawai, North Auckland, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from petrol pumps to be installed at proposed service-station premises situated at Mangawai.

J. Moore, Marton, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed at proposed garage premises situated at the corner of Station Street, Main Street, and Oiroa Street, Marton.

Gold Star Motors, Ltd., West Quay, Waitara, has applied for permission to shift one petrol pump from its present position inside the above garage premises to a new site outside the premises, but still on the property.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 20th December, 1945, to the Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
