Price Order No. 463 (Amending Price Order No. 128) (Eggs)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:-

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 463, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 128† (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 3rd day of December, 1945.

  3. The Second and Third Schedules to the principal Order, as set out in Price Order No. 462‡, are hereby revoked and the following Schedules substituted therefor respectively:-

The Sawmilling Industry (Christmas Holidays) Notice 1945

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to Regulation 20 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, the Timber Controller hereby requires and directs as follows:-

  1. This notice may be cited as the Sawmilling Industry (Christmas Holidays) Notice 1945.

  2. Subject to the provisions of this notice-

(a) Every undertaking in the sawmilling industry shall, in the week commencing on the 17th day of December, 1945, be operated until a time not earlier than the usual closing-time on Wednesday, the 19th day of December, 1945; and

(b) Every worker who in that week is for the time being employed or engaged in or in connection with that undertaking shall in that week work until a time not earlier than the usual closing-time on Wednesday, the 19th day of December, 1945.

  1. Subject to the provisions of this notice-

(a) Every undertaking in the sawmilling industry shall, in the week commencing on the 7th day of January, 1946, be operated from a time not later than the usual commencing-time on Thursday, the 10th day of January, 1946, and

(b) Every worker who in that week is for the time being employed or engaged in or in connection with that undertaking shall in that week work from a time not later than the usual commencing-time on Thursday, the 10th day of January, 1946.

  1. (1) Where, pursuant to Regulation 20 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, any direction has been or is hereafter given by the Timber Controller in respect of any undertaking in the sawmilling industry requiring that undertaking to be operated for a specified number of hours in any week or requiring the workers employed or engaged in or in connection with that undertaking to work for a specified number of hours in any week, nothing contained in that direction shall apply with respect to the weeks commencing on the 17th day of December, 1945, the 24th day of December, 1945, the 31st day of December, 1945, and the 7th day of January, 1946, respectively.

(2) Except as otherwise specially provided herein, the provisions of this notice shall be in addition to and not in derogation of the provisions of any such direction as aforesaid.

  1. Nothing in this notice shall be construed to require that any of the operations of any undertaking in the sawmilling industry be not carried on at any time during the period commencing at the usual closing-time on Wednesday, the 19th day of December, 1945, and ending at the usual commencing-time on Thursday, the 10th day of January, 1946, or that any worker employed or engaged in or in connection with that undertaking shall cease to work at any time during that period.
