The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 16th day of October, 1945, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 1st day of March, 1946, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one hundred and eighty-six (186) acres three (3) roods twenty-four (24) perches, more or less, being Section 8, Block IV, Tangihua Survey District, and being the whole of the land described in certificate of title, Provisional Register, Vol. 191, folio 277 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Blocks XII and XVI, Purua Survey District, and Blocks IX and XIII, Whangarei Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and eighty-five (185) acres two (2) roods twenty-six decimal six (26·6) perches, more or less, being Lots 1, 2, and 3, D.P. 29365, being part of Raumanga Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks, and being the residue of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 728, folio 239 (Auckland Registry).
As witness my hand, this 9th day of November, 1945.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925.—Notice of Proposed Cancellation of Registration

NOTICE is hereby given that in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 23 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, it is my intention to cancel the registration of the South Island Brick, Clay Products, and Concrete Pipe Manufacturers' Industrial Union of Employers, registered No. 1664, situated at Christchurch, after the expiration of six weeks from the date of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary.

BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Counties of Hokianga and Whangaroa, and that part of the Mangonui County as described in the Schedule to a Proclamation dated the 12th day of April, 1945, and appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 24 of the 12th day of April, 1945, taken on the 27th day of October, 1945, on the proposal of the Bay of Islands Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £200,000, for the purpose of supplying and distributing electric energy for the benefit of all the above-described areas of land, and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and things as the Board is empowered to do by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and its amendments, and in respect of which works guarantees as described in clauses 21 to 43 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 have first been given in favour of the Power Board for payment amounting in each of not less than five consecutive years from the completion of such works to at least fourteen per centum of the estimated capital cost of such works, and for providing financial assistance to consumers and for trading purposes as provided in section 118 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925—

British Shoes, Ltd., P.O. Box 508, Christchurch, has applied for an extension of its existing license to permit machining of uppers at Temuka.
L. A. Powell, 2 Ponsonby Terrace, Auckland, has applied for a license to manufacture beach clogs.
R. Hannah and Co., Ltd., P.O. Box 125, Te Aro, has applied for permission to machine uppers in Dannevirke.
