Government Railways Appeal Board.—Appointment of Member

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 9 of the Government Railways Amendment Act, 1927, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Railways, do hereby appoint as a member of the Government Railways Appeal Board Alfred Henry William Evenden, a member of the Railways Department at Wellington, to hold office from the 11th day of November, 1945, to and including the 26th day of August, 1946.

Notice respecting Proposed Abolition of the Dipton River District, County of Southland

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 23rd November, 1945.

IT is hereby notified that the Southland Catchment Board has presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the River Boards Act, 1908, and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, praying that the Dipton River District may be abolished. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed abolition which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
