Land taken for the Purposes of Linen-flax Development in Block VII, Tengawai Survey District (Fairlie Factory)

A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of linen-flax development (Fairlie Factory); and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 2 roods.
Being Lots 16 and 17, D.P. 4011, being part Rural Section 22384.
Situated in Block VII, Tengawai Survey District (Canterbury R.D.).
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 122618, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 16th day of November, 1945.

Altering and redefining the Boundaries of the Hawke’s Bay Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4233)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 14th day of November, 1945
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by section thirty-one of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any rabbit district, may, by Order in Council, alter and redefine the boundaries of its district:
And whereas the district known as the Hawke’s Bay Rabbit District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the said Act:
And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the said section thirty-one of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by excluding an area therefrom:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—
(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid;
(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto; and, further,
(3) Declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE HAWKE’S BAY RABBIT DISTRICT
FIRSTLY, all that area in the Hawke’s Bay and Auckland Land Districts, situate in the Taupo County, containing approximately 173,000 acres, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the point of intersection of the middle-line of the Taharua River with the south-eastern boundary of Tauhara South A Block in Block V, Maruanui Survey District; thence north-easterly by a right line to the Rangitaiki River at the crossing of the main Napier–Taupo Road; thence south-easterly by that road to the middle of the Mohaka River; thence generally westerly up the middle of that river to its junction with the Taharua River; thence northerly up the middle of that river to the point of commencement.
Secondly, all that area in the Hawke’s Bay and Wellington Land Districts, situate in Hawke’s Bay and Rangitikei Counties, containing approximately 432,000 acres, and bounded as follows: Commencing at Trig. Station 65A, being a point on the boundary of the Taupo County (New Zealand Gazette, 1933, page 12) in Block XXI, Kaweka Survey District; thence south-easterly by a right line between the said Trig. Station 65A and Trig. Station H (Don Juan) to the middle-line of the Donald River; thence southerly down the middle of the Donald River to the Tutaekuri River; thence south-easterly down the middle of the Tutaekuri River to the sea and along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Tuki Tuki River; thence southerly up the middle of the Tuki Tuki River to the production of the centre-line of a public road in Block I, Kidnapper Survey District; thence westerly by that production, to and along the said public road, across the Waimarama Road, to and along the Te Mata Road to its junction with the Hastings–Havelock Road in Havelock North Town District; thence north-westerly along the Hastings–Havelock Road, to and along Heretaunga Street in the Borough of Hastings, to and along the Napier–Hastings via Fernhill Main Highway to Fernhill Bridge at the crossing of the Ngaruroro River; thence northerly across that bridge to the middle-line of the Ngaruroro River; thence westerly up the middle of the Ngaruroro River to its confluence with the Taruarau River; thence south-westerly up the Taruarau River, the Ikawatea Stream, the Makirikiri Stream to the southern boundary of Mangaohane A Block; thence north-westerly along the southern boundary of Mangaohane A Block to Trig. Station 79; thence in a general southerly direction along the summit of the Ruahine Range to the south-western boundary of the Hawke’s Bay County (New Zealand Gazette, 1942, page 950); thence north-westerly by a right line to Trig. Station 30 on Aorangi; thence south-westerly by a right line between the said Trig. Station 30 and Trig. Station 32 to the middle-line of the Rangitikei River; thence northerly up the middle of the Rangitikei River to the Taupo County boundary; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the Taupo County (New Zealand Gazette, 1933, page 12) to the point of commencement.

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £8,000 by the Green Island Borough Council and prescribing the Conditions thereof

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Green Island Borough Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”), being desirous of raising the sum of eight thousand pounds (£8,000), to be known as “Streets Improvement Loan, 1945” (hereinafter called “the said loan”), for the purpose of concrete kerbing and channelling and asphalting footpaths, has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, as required by the said Act, should be given to the raising of the said loan:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the said Act, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising in New Zealand by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of eight thousand pounds (£8,000), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows:—
(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be raised shall not exceed twenty-two (22) years.
(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate exceeding three pounds seven shillings and sixpence (£3 7s. 6d.) per centum per annum.
(3) The said loan shall be repaid by twenty-two (22) annual instalments of principal, being ten (10) annual instalments of three hundred pounds (£300) each over the first ten (10) years of the term, ten (10) annual instalments of four hundred pounds (£400) each over the following ten (10) years of the term, and by two (2) annual instalments of five hundred pounds (£500) each over the remaining two (2) years of the term.
(4) The payment of such instalments and the payment of interest shall be made in New Zealand, and no instalment or interest shall be paid out of loan-moneys.
(5) The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and procurement fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of any amount raised.
(6) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.
