Notice to Mariners No. 35 of 1945

NEW ZEALAND NAUTICAL ALMANAC AND TIDE-TABLES
MARINERS and others are hereby advised that only Part I of the Almanac has been published for 1946 owing to the paper shortage. Part I is available to the usual purchasers and contains a summary of alterations to bring Part II up to date. A limited number of Part II, Port Information, is still available to mariners who were unable to purchase the 1942 edition.
Part I contains the following information: Astronomical ephemeris of the sun; daily times of sunrise and sunset at Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Wellington, with time differences for ascertaining similar times at Invercargill, Nelson, New Plymouth, and Westport; phases of the moon; mean places and meridian passage of stars and times of moonrise and moonset at Wellington. Tidal predictions, giving the times and heights of high and low water for the ports of Auckland, Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, New Plymouth, Wellington, and Westport; time differences by which the approximate times of high and low water at 104 places in the Dominion may be found; and tidal-stream predictions giving the approximate daily times of the flood and ebb streams making at Tory Channel and French Pass.
List of New Zealand lighthouses, radio beacons, and fog-signals; list of latest dated charts of the New Zealand coast and harbours; list of licensed adjusters and coastal pilots, &c.; and a summary of alterations to bring the Port Information in the 1942 edition and Part II, 1943, and 1944, up to 10th September, 1945.
Part II contains the following information: Information and plans relative to ports in the Dominion; important Notices to Mariners issued by the Admiralty; caution when approaching and navigating within British ports; distress signals and procedure; regulations for preventing collisions at sea; signal letters of ships registered in the Dominion.
Part I may be purchased from Government Shipping Offices in the Dominion, or Marine Department, Wellington.
The Almanac is published by direction of the Hon. the Minister of Marine.

(7) SAND-BAGS, NEW: Quantity, 547,900. Held at various depots throughout New Zealand.

TENDERS close with the Secretary, War Assets Realization Board, Defence Services Building, Bunny Street, Wellington (postal address, P.O. Box 5080, Lambton Quay), at noon on Monday, 19th November, 1945, for the purchase of TANKS, TRAILERS, AND WRECKED AND INCOMPLETE MOTOR-VEHICLES (Tenders Nos. 292 to 316 inclusive) located at Vehicle-reception Depot, Cornwall Park, Auckland.
Tenders must be addressed to the Board’s Secretary in sealed envelopes marked “Tender No. . . . . . . . .” The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted. Schedules of conditions and lots offered may be obtained at the Board’s Wellington office, the offices of the Board’s District Executive Officers, Dilworth Building, Queen Street, Auckland, and Old Art Gallery Building, Durham Street, Christchurch, and also at the District Office of the Department of Industries and Commerce at Christchurch and Dunedin.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES
EVIDENCE of the loss of leasehold certificate of title, Vol. 795, folio 270 (Auckland Registry), for all the land in Lease No. 18956, being Lots 63 and 64 on Deposited Plan 20211, Town of Waikowhai Extension Nos. 17 and 18, being parts of Allotments 14 and 14A of Section 13 of the Suburbs of Auckland, in favour of JOHN FITZGERALD, of Auckland, retired, having been lodged with me together with an application to register surrender of the said Lease No. 18956 without production of the outstanding copy of the leasehold certificate of title in terms of section 40 of the Land Transfer Act, 1915, notice is hereby given of my intention to register such surrender of lease after fourteen days from 1st November, 1945.
