Land taken for a Maternity Home in the City of Wanganui

A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other
power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril
Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a maternity home and
shall vest in the Wanganui Hospital Board as from the date here-
inafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation
shall take effect on and after the thirty-first day of October, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-five.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 1 rood 4·97 perches.
Being part Section 465, Town of Wanganui.
Situated in Block V, Westmere Survey District (City of
Wanganui). (S.O. 21358.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more parti-
cularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 122548, deposited in
the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured blue.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 26th day of October, 1945.

Consenting to Land being taken for a Maternity Home in the City

At the Government House at Wellington, this 31st day of
October, 1945
Present :
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities con-
ferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers
in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule hereto
being taken for a maternity home.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land permitted to be taken:
1 rood 4·97 perches.
Being part Section 465, Town of Wanganui.
Situated in Block V, Westmere Survey District (City of

Constituting the Northern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit District.—(Notice
No. Ag. 4226)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of
October, 1945
Present :
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS by section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928,
it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in
Council, on petition in that behalf signed by a majority of the
persons qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for any
proposed district, constitute and declare any area of land of not less
than one thousand acres a rabbit district under and for the purposes
of Part II of the said Act :
And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section
thirty of the said Act, a petition has been received praying that
the area of land described in the Schedule hereto be constituted
and declared a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II
of the said Act :
And whereas the said petition is signed by a majority of the
persons in the said area of land qualified to be enrolled on the
ratepayers’ list for the said proposed district, and it is deemed
expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners accordingly :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific
name of the “Northern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit District” and declare
that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district
under and for the purpose of Part II of the said Act; and doth
hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be
established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall
be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said
district.
