- The particulars which shall be obtained from Natives shall be as follows:
(1) Name:
(2) Sex:
(3) Age:
(4) Racial origin:
(5) Birthplace:
(6) Name of village or district where living at the census:
(7) Occupation:
(8) Religion:
(9) Ability to read or write in (a) English or (b) the Native language of the island in which he abode on the night of the census.

If any person, whether European or Native, objects to stating his religion, an entry or statement of objection shall be sufficient for the purpose of the census.

Every officer appointed for the purpose of the census is authorized to ask such questions and conduct such inquiries as are necessary to obtain or to verify the particulars set out in Regulations 10 and 12 hereof.

In any case in which the prescription of particulars hereinbefore contained is insufficient completely to indicate the nature of the information to be furnished a Resident Commissioner or Resident Agent shall have power to direct by means of instructions contained in a census schedule or sub-enumeration book the precise nature of the particulars required.

Any person who neglects or refuses to furnish any census schedule as aforesaid or to answer any questions lawfully put to him for the purposes of the census, or who knowingly makes any statement or gives any answer untrue in any material particular required by these regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine of £50.

Any person who without lawful authority destroys, mutilates, or defaces a census schedule or other census document of record shall be liable to a fine of £50.

Any officer appointed to any duty in connection with the census or any other person who divulges or makes use of any information obtained pursuant to these regulations except as required for the preparation of statistics from the data obtained at the census shall be liable to a fine of £50.

Any person who hinders or obstructs any officer in pursuance of his duty under these regulations shall be liable to a fine of £10.

The Government Statistician appointed under the Census and Statistics Act, 1926, and a Resident Commissioner appointed under the Cook Islands Act, 1915, may prepare from the data obtained at the census such statistics as may be required for their respective purposes and may publish such statistics with any comments thereon which are deemed necessary or advisable.

Pursuant to the authority vested in me by section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and by an Order in Council of the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, providing for the constitution of Island Councils in the Cook Islands, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the appointments as members of the Island Council of Niue of—
Talima, of Tuapa, with effect on the sixth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five;
Ikihagai, of Liku, with effect on the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five;
Galiki, of Hakupu, with effect on the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five;
and I do hereby nominate and appoint the following persons as members of the said Island Council of Niue, to hold office during my pleasure, that is to say—
Lagigie, of Tuapa, with effect on the seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five;
