At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of September, 1945
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby extend the hour at which the poll for the election of a member of the Balclutha Borough Council, to be held on Wednesday, the third day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, shall close, to seven o'clock in the afternoon of the day appointed.

The South-western Side of Portion of Saxton's Road, in the County of Waimea, exempted from the Provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works Act, 1928, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Waimea County Council on the thirteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, viz.:-
"'The Waimea County Council, being the local authority having control of the roads in the County of Waimea, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the south-western side of Saxton's Road fronting subdivision of part Section 77, Waimea East, Block VII, Waimea Survey District, and contained in the Certificate of Title, Vol. 57/217";
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the south-western side of portion of Saxton's Road (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-five feet from the centre-line of the said portion of road.
SCHEDULE
THE south-western side of all that portion of road situated in the Nelson Land District, County of Waimea, known as Saxton's Road, fronting part Section 77, District of Waimea East, Block VII, Waimea Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 122014, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

"That the Auckland City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Auckland, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the western side of portion of St. George's Bay Road and the eastern side of portion of Scarborough Terrace fronting a subdivision of part of Allotments 74, 75, and 76 of Section 1, Suburbs of Auckland";
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the western side of the portion of St. George's Bay Road or the eastern side of the portion of Scarborough Terrace (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-lines of the said portions of streets.
SCHEDULE
THE western side of all that portion of street situated in the North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, known as St. George's Bay Road, fronting part of Allotment 76, Section l, Suburbs of Auckland.
Also the eastern side of all that portion of street situated in the said land district and city, known as Scarborough Terrace, fronting part of Allotment 74, Section l, Suburbs of Auckland.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 122244, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

The Cook Islands Census Regulations 1945

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCEY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Cook Islands Act, 1915, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations.
REGULATIONS
- These regulations may be cited as the Cook Islands Census Regulations 1945.
- These regulations shall apply only to the census hereby directed to be taken.
- The Cook Islands Census Regulations 1936 are revoked.
- A census shall be taken in the Cook Islands on the night between Tuesday, the 25th day of September, 1945, and Wednesday, the 26th day of the same month.
- For the purpose of taking the census a Resident Commissioner or Resident Agent may assign duties to such officers as are required.
- For the purpose of these regulations a dwelling means any building or erection, whether permanent or temporary, which is wholly or partly used for human habitation, and includes a vessel at any island of the Cook Islands or on a passage between any two of such islands.
- The census of Europeans shall be taken by means of schedules comprising both covering schedules and personal schedules and containing particulars which shall be furnished by every occupier or person in charge of a dwelling occupied by a European or Europeans.
- It shall be the duty of every occupier or person in charge of a dwelling which is occupied by a European or Europeans to ensure that the particulars required by the schedules are furnished with respect to-
(a) Every European who abode in the dwelling on the night of the census and who was alive at midnight thereof:
(b) Every European who arrived at or returned to the dwelling after that midnight and before the next following midnight and who was not included in the census elsewhere. - Every European (not being the occupier or person in charge of the dwelling) is required to furnish to the occupier or person in charge of the dwelling the particulars necessary to complete the schedules or to complete a personal schedule and deliver it to the occupier or person in charge.
- The particulars, which shall be obtained by means of the said Schedules, shall be as follows:-
(a) Covering Schedule-
(1) Nature of establishment:
(2) Name of island in which situated:
(3) Number of Europeans of each sex who abode in the dwelling on the night of the census and who were alive at midnight thereof, or who arrived at or returned to the dwelling after that midnight and before the next following midnight and were not included in the census elsewhere:
(4) Name of every person for whom a personal schedule is attached.
(b) Personal Schedule-
(1) Full name:
(2) Relationship to head of household:
(3) Sex:
(4) Age:
(5) Marital status:
(6) Number of living children under the age of 16 years:
(7) Birthplace:
(8) Nationality:
(9) Duration of residence in the Cook Islands:
(10) Racial origin:
(11) Industry, profession, or occupation:
(12) Name of employer:
(13) Religion:
(14) Usual place of residence:
(15) War service in Armed Forces. - The census of Natives shall be taken and recorded in sub-enumeration books by officers appointed for that purpose.
