The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 31st day of May, 1946, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 23rd day of October, 1945, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, Piako County, situated in Blocks I and II, Maungakawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement six hundred and forty-nine (649) acres two (2) roods, more or less, being part of Te Mimi Block, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 90, folio 16 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, Piako County, situated in Blocks I and II, Maungakawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and thirty-nine (139) acres one (1) rood twenty-four (24) perches, more or less, being part of Te Mimi Block, and Lot 10 and part of Lot 8 on D.P. 16038, being parts of Te Mimi Block, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 719, folio 176 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, Piako County, situated in Block X, Maungakawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement two hundred and twenty-nine (229) acres two (2) roods, more or less, being part of the land on D.P. 22032, being part of Te Mutu Block, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 662, folio 47 (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the Gazette on the 22nd day of March, 1945, at page 315:
And whereas no objection was made in manner prescribed by the said Act to the taking of the lands specified in the said notice:
And whereas the Minister of Lands, with the consent of the owner, has agreed to a variation of the area to be taken by the inclusion of additional land:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 28th day of February, 1946, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
FIRST SCHEDULE
HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District containing approximately three hundred (300) acres, being part of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 3529, and being also part of the Oringi-Waiaruhe No. 2 Block, situated in Block IX, Tahoraiti Survey District, being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 100, folio 190 (Hawke’s Bay Registry).
SECOND SCHEDULE
HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District containing three hundred and forty-one (341) acres, being Lots 1 and 2 on Deposited Plan 7190, being also part of the Oringi-Waiaruhe No. 2 Block, situated in Block IX, Tahoraite Survey District, being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 100, folio 190 (Hawke’s Bay Registry).

Land vested in the Alexandra Borough Council declared to be a Public Reserve

Wellington, 14th September, 1945.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed by the Alexandra Borough Council, pursuant to section 5 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, on the 23rd day of August, 1945:—
“Resolved that, pursuant to section 5 of Part I of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, public notice having been duly given of the Council’s intention so to do and no objections having been received to the proposal, the Alexandra Borough Council now hereby declares Sections 10 and 11, Block XXVI, Town of Alexandra, to be a public reserve set apart in aid of borough funds.”

Notifying Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925

PURSUANT to the provisions of subsection (2) of section 48 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto was acquired by the Crown on the 7th day of April, 1945, and became subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, as from that date.

Details.—Mariners are warned that the areas enclosed by lines joining the above positions are dangerous due to mines, and ships, including small craft and fishing-vessels, enter at their peril.
This notice cancels Admiralty Notice to Mariners No. 2553 (T) of 1940.

New Zealand Emergency Standard Specification amended
NOTICE is given of the issue of Amendment No. 1 (dated September, 1945) to the New Zealand Emergency Standard Specification entitled “Grades of Meat for Sale on the Local Market and Definitions of Joints and Cuts” bearing date July, 1943, and numbered N.Z.S.S. E. 79, which is cited in the Board of Trade (Meat Grading) Regulations 1943.* The said amendment shall come into force upon the expiry of seven days following the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.
Copies of the specification as amended may be obtained from the Secretary, New Zealand Standards Institute, 201 Lambton Quay, Wellington C.1, price 1s. per copy (post free). Each person who has already purchased a copy of the specification is entitled to a copy of the amendment free of charge.
