Notice of Intention to take Land in the Borough of Taumarunui for
Post and Telegraph Purposes
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described
in the Schedule hereto for Post and Telegraph purposes: And
notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required
to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Taumarunui and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the
taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 rood.
Being Allotment 6, Block VII, Taumarunui Native Township.
Situated in Block I, Piopiotea Survey District (Borough of
Taumarunui) (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 32470.)
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 120484, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured
yellow.
As witness my hand at Wellington, this 4th day of September,

The Grocery Trade Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1942,
Amendment No. 1
PURSUANT to the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:

  1. This Order may be cited as the Grocery Trade Labour
    Legislation Suspension Order 1942, Amendment No. 1.
  2. This Order shall be read together with and deemed part
    of the Grocery Trade Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1942
    (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
  3. Clauses 4 and 5 of the principal Order are revoked and the
    following clauses substituted therefor:
    “4. A female assistant commencing at the trade under the
    age of twenty years shall, up to the age of twenty years, be paid
    in accordance with the scale of wages specified in the Grocers
    Assistants’ award in force in the district concerned, but on reaching
    the age of twenty years she shall receive a wage of not less than
    £4 9s. 10d. per week, and on reaching the age of twenty-one years
    and thereafter she shall receive a wage of not less than £4 19s. 10d.
    per week.
    “5. A female assistant commencing at the trade at the age of
    twenty years or over shall receive a wage of not less than £3 12s. 10d.
    per week for the first six months, £3 19s. 10d. per week for the
    second six months, £4 14s. 10d. for the third six months, and
    £4 19s. 10d. per week thereafter.”
  4. Clause 7 of the principal Order is amended by deleting the
    symbols, figures, and letters “£4 7s.” where they occur and sub-
    stituting the symbols, figures, and letters “£4 19s. 10d.”
  5. This Order shall come into force on the day of the date
    hereof.

    The Auckland Butchery Trade Labour Legislation Suspension Order
    1943, Amendment No. 1
    PURSUANT to the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations
    1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:
  6. This Order may be cited as the Auckland Butchery Trade
    Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1943, Amendment No. 1.
  7. This Order shall be read together with and deemed part
    of the Auckland Butchery Trade Labour Legislation Suspension
    Order 1943 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
  8. Clause 5 of the principal Order is revoked and the following
    clause substituted therefor:
    “5. The minimum rates of pay for female assistants employed
    as provided in clause 4 hereof shall be as follows:
    £ s. d.
    “During the first three months . . 3 17 10 per week.
    “During the second three months . . 4 7 10 ”
    “‘Thereafter . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5 2 10 ”
    “(a) The minimum rates of pay in this clause prescribed
    shall be paid to every female assistant in respect of every week
    in which she is employed at any time in any of the classes of
    work described in the next preceding clause hereof.
    “(b) For the purpose of determining the rate of payment to
    which any female assistant is entitled under this clause in respect
    of any period of employment, there shall be taken into account
    all periods of that person’s employment in any butcher’s shop,
    pork-butcher’s shop, butcher’s small-goods shop, or any delica-
    tessen shop.”
  9. Clause 7 of the principal Order is revoked and the following
    clause substituted therefor:
    “7. For the purpose of determining the proportion of youths
    and junior assistants to senior assistants, as prescribed by the
    award in force in the district, female assistants in receipt of a wage
    less than £5 2s. 10d. per week shall be classed as junior assistants,
    and those receiving a wage of £5 2s. 10d. per week or more shall
    be classed as senior assistants.”
  10. This Order shall come into effect from the day of the date
    hereof.

    The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of
    Intention to take Land
    THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
    Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
    gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
    Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st
    day of March, 1946, as the date on which possession of the land is
    required and the 18th day of October, 1945, as the date on or before
    which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
    SCHEDULE
    TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT
    ALL that parcel of land containing three hundred and seven (307)
    acres two (2) roods five (5) perches, more or less, being Section 4
    and part Section 5, Block XII, Ngaere Survey District, and being
    all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 47, folio 88.
    Also all that parcel of land containing forty-four (44) acres
    three (3) roods, more or less, being part Tutaeariari Block No. 1
    on Deposited Plan 1715 in Block XII, Ngaere Survey District, and
    being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 47, folio 4.
    Also all that parcel of land containing two hundred (200) acres,
    more or less, being Section 30, Block XIV, Ngaere Survey District,
    and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 37,
    folio 176.
    Also all that parcel of land containing one hundred and fifty-
    seven (157) acres three (3) roods thirty-one decimal nine (31·9)
    perches, more or less, being part Sections 1 and 2, Block XIV,
    Ngaere Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate
    of title, Vol. 25, folio 79, excepting thereout the land taken by
    Proclamation No. 1525 (Taranaki Registry).
    As witness my hand, this 7th day of September, 1945.

    The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
    declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged
    Serviceman
    WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the
    Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land
    described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the
    Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
    And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application
    has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application
    relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a
    discharged serviceman:
    And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the
    Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of
    the land, did on the 2nd day of August, 1945, make an order deter-
    mining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order
    was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any
    further time allowed by the Court:
