EVIDENCE of the loss of certificate of title, Vol. 144, folio 239 (Otago Registry), for Lot 69, Deposited Plan 1824, Balmacewan Estate, being part Section 5, Block II, Kaikorai District, containing 34·9 perches, in the name of THE OTAGO PRESBYTERIAN BOYS’ COLLEGE BOARD OF GOVERNORS (INCORPORATED), having been lodged with me together with an application for a new certificate of title in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such new certificate of title on 17th August, 1945.

THE TAURANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928
NOTICE is hereby given that the Tauranga Borough Council proposes to take the piece of land described in the Schedule hereto under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for purposes of pleasure-grounds and sports-grounds, and that a plan showing the lands required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Tauranga Borough Council at Willow Street, Tauranga, and is open for inspection during office hours; and, also, that all persons affected by the taking of the said lands shall, if they have any well-founded objection to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the 16th day of July, 1945 (being the date of the first publication of this notice), to the offices of the Tauranga Borough Council addressed to the undersigned.
SCHEDULE
ALL that piece or parcel of land situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing two acres (2 acres), more or less, being Lots 1 to 8 inclusive on Deposited Plan 29918, being part of Block 28, Church Mission Reserve, Section 2, Town of Tauranga, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 178, folio 291 (Auckland Land Registry).

IN accordance with the provisions of section 232 of the Companies Act notice is hereby given that an ordinary general meeting of members of the above company will be held at the offices of W. E. G. Reid and Co., 29 Bond Street, Dunedin, on Tuesday, the 21st day of August, 1945, at 5 p.m., for the purpose of laying before such meeting an account showing how the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and giving any explanations required.
The following extraordinary resolution will be submitted to members :—

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
NOTICE is hereby given that a plan showing the lands described in the Schedule hereto, proposed to be compulsorily taken by the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Inangahua, in pursuance of Part II of the Public Works Act, 1928, for the purpose of the construction and maintenance of a road, may be inspected at the offices of the County Clerk, County Council Chambers, Reefton, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday in each week: And notice is further given that all persons affected by such taking are required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objection thereto and to forward the same to the undersigned within forty days from the date hereof.
THE SCHEDULE ABOVE REFERRED TO
(a) All that parcel of land containing one (1) rood twenty-five (25) perches, be the same a little more or less, being part Section 1, Square 131, situate in Block IX, Reefton Survey District.
(b) All that parcel of land containing one (1) acre three (3) roods eleven (11) perches, be the same a little more or less, being accretion from the Waitahu River, situate in Block IX, Reefton Survey District.

NELSON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, known as “The Abattoir Loan, 1945,” authorized to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing a boiler, erecting a boiler-house, making improvements to the Staff Change Room at the Nelson City Abattoir, and purchasing weighing-machines, the Nelson City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value, being the annual value, of all rateable property in the City of Nelson, comprising the whole of the City of Nelson; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 24th day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing resolution was duly passed by the Nelson City Council at its meeting on the 26th day of July, 1945.
