Notice under Section 48, Housing Act, 1919

WHEREAS under the provisions of section forty-five of the Housing Act, 1919, any employer in an industry to which Part III of the said Act applies may at any time apply to the Minister of Finance for financial assistance towards the provision of dwellinghouses for any workers permanently employed by him in connection with that industry :

And whereas under the provisions of section forty-eight of the said Act, it is enacted that the said Part III shall not apply to any industry unless and until the Governor-General, by notice published in the Gazette, declares that it shall so apply :

And whereas application has been received from an employer in the industry of quarrying for lime for assistance as aforesaid under the provisions of the said Act :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf and for the purposes of the aforesaid Act, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that Part III of the Housing Act, 1919, shall and does apply to the industry of quarrying for lime.

As witness the hand of his Excellency the Governor-General, this 2nd day of July, 1945.

Declaring Crown Land in the Auckland Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the “said land”) is Crown land not acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, but is adjacent to certain land acquired under the said Act and known as the Matuku Settlement and can conveniently be disposed of therewith :

Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and five of the said Act, and on the recommendation of the Land Settlement Board, and after considering the report of the Auckland District Land Board, do hereby declare the said land to be subject to the said Act, to the intent that it shall hereupon be deemed to be portion of the said Matuku Settlement and may be disposed of accordingly.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WHAKATANE COUNTY

ALLOTMENT 272, Matata Parish : Area, 5 perches.

Amended Regulations made by the New Zealand Institute of Architects (Incorporated)

PURSUANT to section 21 of the New Zealand Institute of Architects Act, 1913, the New Zealand Institute of Architects doth hereby make the following regulation.

REGULATION

THE regulations made by the New Zealand Institute of Architects and published in the Gazette on the 25th day of November, 1937, at page 2569, are amended by the abrogation of Regulation 32 (f) and the following substituted therefor :—

“(f) Nineteen persons to be elected annually by the members from among their number in the following proportions :—
“Four to represent the Auckland District.
“One to represent the South Auckland District.
“Two to represent the Taranaki-Wanganui-Manawatu District.
“Two to represent the Hawke’s Bay - Gisborne District.
“Four to represent the Wellington District.
“Three to represent the Canterbury District.
“Two to represent the Otago District, and
“One to represent the Southland District.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing regulation was duly made at a general meeting of the members of the New Zealand Institute of Architects held at Wellington on the 21st day of February, 1945, and in compliance with the provisions of section 21 of the New Zealand Institute of Architects Act, 1913.
