Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 6th day of July, 1945.

Proclaiming a Road-line laid off in Blocks II, III, VI, and VII, Hukatere Survey District, North Auckland Land District, to be a Public Road

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by an order of the Native Land Court made on the fourth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two, duly laid off as a road-line in pursuance of sections four-hundred and seventy-eight, four hundred and seventy-nine, four hundred and eighty-two, and four hundred and eighty-three of the Native Land Act, 1931:
And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the public interest that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the Minister of Lands, in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six of the said Act :
And whereas one month’s notice in writing of the intention to proclaim the said road-line as a public road has been given by the Surveyor-General to the local authority of the district concerned, in terms of subsection two of section four hundred and eighty-seven of the said Act :
And whereas it is now expedient that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four hundred and eighty-seven of the Native Land Act, 1931, do hereby proclaim as a public road the road-line described in the Schedule hereto.

Boundaries of City of Christchurch and County of Heathcote altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 11th day of July, 1945
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS in pursuance of section one hundred and thirty-six of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that a certain area of land be excluded from the County of Heathcote and included in the City of Christchurch :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to make such alteration of boundaries :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Heathcote and included in the City of Christchurch.
SCHEDULE
AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE AND INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH
ALL that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the northern side of Roscoe Street in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 13 on plan deposited in the Canterbury District Land Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 8624, being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch (New Zealand Gazette, 1944, pages 1254 and 1508); thence in a southerly direction by a right line to and along the eastern boundary of the said Lot 13, and the eastern boundary of Lot 9 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 8624 to Leonard Street; thence easterly along the northern side of that street and its production to a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence northwesterly and easterly along that boundary to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the provisions of subsection two of section seventeen of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby appoint Eric Holdsworth Burton, Esquire, of Papatoetoe, Solicitor, to be the Chairman of the North Auckland Land Sales Committee, in the place of Stephen Ingles Goodall, Esquire, resigned.
