Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Taking of Fish for Sale
P. Watson, l Andrew Street, Napier, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Silver Foam,” NR. 10, using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, so as to permit him to land his catches at Gisborne instead of Napier.
V. L. N. Wells, Wakatahuri, Pelorus Sound, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Matai,” so as to permit him to use trawl-nets in addition to set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at French Pass.
R. M. Doig, Endeavour Inlet, Picton, has applied for a license to operate the 38 ft. 4 h.p. fishing-vessel “Erlin” (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, set-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Picton.
Fish Retailing
E. Georgeou, 3 Laing’s Road, Lower Hutt, has applied for a license to permit him to sell cooked fish from premises situated at the above address known as the Kiwi Cafe.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
Ace Footwear, Ltd., corner of Jackson and Victoria Streets, Petone, have applied for permission to manufacture men’s, women’s, youth’s, maids’, and children’s sandal-type shoes and boots by the machine-sewn, riveted, and cemented processes.
Peters Shoes, Ltd., 57 Guinness Street, Greymouth, have applied for an extension of their existing license to permit the manufacture of children’s footwear (size 2–6’s) by the machine-sewn and fair-stitched processes.
Pharmacy Industry
E. A. Aldridge, 84A Wairoa Road, Narrow Neck, Auckland, has applied for permission to open a new pharmacy at 432 Mount Eden Road, Auckland.
H. C. M. White has applied for permission to open a new pharmacy at Northland, Wellington.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 12th July, 1945, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Surplus War Assets for Sale
THE War Assets Realization Board, Defence Services Building, Bunny Street, Wellington (postal address, Box 5080, Lambton Quay), invites offers for:
(1) SET CROCODILE SHEARS WITH MOTOR AND STARTER (one only). Capacity, 9 in. by ⅜ in. hot. Located at Dunedin.
(2) 10,000 SANDBAGS, in lots of not less than 200, used, treated with creosote, small type, good condition. Located at Waipapakauri.
(3) 18 STEEL ARMOURED BODIES, and also approximately 5 TONS STEEL ARMOUR PLATE, in assorted shapes and sizes. Located at Railway Workshops, Woburn.
(4) 334 DRUMS CHLORIDE OF LIME (each 1 cwt.). Located at Waiouru, Mangaroa, and Wellington.
(5) 207 WATER-CONTAINERS, tinned steel, each containing eight one-pint tins sealed with crown tops. Located at Wellington.
(6) DINGHY (one only), inboard, used, 14 ft. 6 in. long by 7 ft. 6 in. beam and 1 ft. 6 in. draught. Motor: Chapman Pup; two-stroke; 4½ h.p.; bore, 3½; A.P.M., 1,200. Located at R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Hobsonville.
Offers close with the Board’s Secretary, to whom they should be addressed in envelopes marked “Offer for ………”, at noon on Monday, 16th July, 1945. Full particulars and conditions of sale are obtainable from the Board’s Wellington office, the offices of the Board’s District Executive Officers, Dilworth Building, Queen Street, Auckland, and old Art Gallery Building, Durham Street, Christchurch, and also at the District Storekeeper’s Office, Public Works Department, Dunedin.
