The Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order
1941, Variation No. 34

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Overtime and Holidays
    Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 34.

  2. This Order shall be read together with and deemed part of
    the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order
    1941 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).

  3. The principal Order is varied as follows, namely: The
    provisions of the principal Order shall not apply to the workers
    coming within the scope of any of the awards or industrial
    agreements specified in the following Schedule.

Approval of Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers Regulations
1940

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940,
the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further
notice, of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder
being a Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority
specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Plant declared a Noxious Weed in the Borough of Waikouaiti.—

THE following special order made by the Waikouaiti Borough
Council on the 26th day of March, 1945, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER

“ That, pursuant to the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act,
1928, and amendments thereto, the Waikouaiti Borough Council
hereby resolves that hemlock (Conium maculatum) be hereby declared
to be a noxious weed within the Borough of Waikouaiti.”

THE following special order made by the Northcote Borough
Council on the 11th day of April, 1945, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER

“ In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious
Weeds Act, 1928, the Northcote Borough Council hereby resolves
and declares, by way of special order, that the plants mentioned
in the Schedule hereto (being plants mentioned in Second Schedule
to the above Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council) are noxious weeds within the Borough of
Northcote:—

“ Convolvulus (Convolvulus arvensis) and convolvulus (Calystegia
sepium, both species).
“ Dock (Rumex, any species).
“ Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
“ Gorse (Ulex europaeus).
“ Hawthorn.
“ Periwinkle (Vinca major).
“ Pussy willow (Salix caprea).
“ Silver poplar (Populus nivea).
“ Thistles; Any species of Carlina (stemless thistle), Carduus
(common plume or Scotch thistle), Cnicus (woolly-headed
thistle), Centaurea (star thistle), Silybum (milk thistle).
“ Watsonia bulbillifera.
“ Wild turnip (Brassica campestris).
“ And all previous orders are hereby revoked.”

New Zealand Emergency Standard Specification substituted

NOTICE is given of the issue of a New Zealand Emergency
Standard Specification entitled “Simplified Practice for the
Manufacture of Women’s Footwear” bearing date March, 1945,
in substitution for the specification having the same title and bearing
date June, 1943, which is cited in the Women’s Footwear Control
Order 1943.*

Copies of the specification so issued in substitution may be
obtained from the Secretary, New Zealand Standards Institute,
Lambton Quay, Wellington C.1, price 6d. per copy, post free.
Each person who has already purchased a copy of the previous
specification is entitled to a copy of the substituted specification
free of charge.
