The foregoing special order, entitled “Subdivision of Whareroa Riding into two Ridings and adjusting Representation on the Council,” was duly passed by the Hutt County Council at a special meeting of the said Council held on 17th November, 1944, and confirmed at a subsequent ordinary meeting of the said Council held on the 15th December, 1944.

Economic Stabilization Emergency Regulations 1942.—Wartime Price Index
IN accordance with Regulation 41 of the Economic Stabilization Emergency Regulations 1942, it is hereby notified that the wartime price index as at the 15th day of December, 1944 (on base : 15th December, 1942 = 1000), was 1004. This figure indicates that the general level of prices of commodities, &c., included in the wartime price index was 0·4 per cent. higher at 15th December, 1944, than at 15th December, 1942.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Taking of Fish for Sale
N. L. Fuller, Russell, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 32 ft. 25 h.p. engined launch “Lady Helen” (not yet registered), using rod and reel and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Russell.
E. J. Murrell, 30 Carlyle Street, Napier, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 22 ft. 23 h.p. engined launch “Nauti-Gal” (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Port Ahuriri, Napier.
D. J. McKenzie, 49 Bowker Street, Timaru, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the vessel “Kia Ora,” DN. 336, using trawl-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, so as to permit him to change his port of landing from Port Chalmers to Timaru.
J. Ballantyne, 126 Barn Street, Bluff, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Te Anau,” BF. 68, so as to permit him to use trawl-nets in addition to the present method of fishing.
Fish Retailing
Williamina A. Forsythe, 5 Avenue Road, Foxton, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit the sale of cooked fish from her premises in Main Road, Foxton.
C. Wild, 25 Bowhill Road, North Beach, Christchurch, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit him to sell wet and cooked fish from his premises at the above address.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 1st February, 1945, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
