Appointments in the Public Service

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following
appointments in the Public Service :
Arthur Chitty Russell Anderson
to be Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Marlborough Land
District for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, on and from the 5th
day of January, 1945.
Basil King
to be Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Nelson Land District
for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, on and from the 1st day of
January, 1945.
George Ernest Bradley
to be Registrar of Friendly Societies for the purposes of the Friendly
Societies Act, 1909, on and from the 20th day of November, 1944.
Robert McConnell Porteous
to be Superintendent of the Fund for the purposes of the National
Provident Fund Act, 1926, on and from the 30th day of November,
1944.
Charles William Routledge
to be Receiver of Land Revenue for the Southland Land District for
the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, on and from the 28th day of
December, 1944.
Alfred Walter Knapp
to be Receiver of Land Revenue for the Otago Land District for the
purposes of the Land Act, 1924, on and from the 22nd day of
December, 1944.
William Thomas Spelman
to be Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Southland Land District
for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, on and from the 3rd day of
February, 1945.
John Andrew Peterson
to be Receiver of Land Revenue for the Wellington Land District for
the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, on and from the 21st day of
December, 1944.
Elva Jean Linklater (Miss)
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Half-moon
Bay, on and from the 30th day of November, 1944.
Joseph Gerald Grace
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Hamilton,
on and from the 4th day of December, 1944.
George Myring Newton
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Mokai, on
and from the 4th day of December, 1944.

Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area
PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, I,
Benjamin Roberts, Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that
a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in
the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared
to be a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby
declare such area of land defined as aforesaid to be a Bobby Calf
Marketing Pool Area for the purpose of the said regulations under
the name set out in the said Schedule ; and I do hereby further
declare that this notice shall take effect on the 25th day of
January, 1945.
SCHEDULE
NUHAHA-WAIROA BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA
ALL that area of land situated in the Wairoa County, and bounded
by a line commencing at a point on the sea-coast at the mouth of
the Mohaka River, and thence following the eastern bank of the
aforesaid river upstream to the point where the said river crosses
the western boundary of the Wairoa County at the south-western
corner of the Gisborne Land District. From this point following
along the Wairoa County boundary, firstly in a generally northerly
direction and then in a generally easterly direction to the point
where this boundary joins the sea-coast just north of the Haukake
Stream. From this point following along the sea-coast in a generally
south-westerly direction taking in the Mahia Peninsular to the
mouth of the Mohaka River, being the original point of commencement.

Approval of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940
IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940,
the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the persons
named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers
under the said regulation for the authorities specified in Column 1
of the said Schedule.

Approval of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940
IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940,
the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the person
named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a Testing Officer
under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of
the said Schedule.

Classification of Road in Whangaroa County
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by
the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-
vehicle Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby
approve of the Whangaroa County Council's proposed classification
of the road described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the
Whangaroa County.

WHANGAROA COUNTY
Road classified in Class Four : Available for the use thereon of any
multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle or any trailer which with the
load it is carrying has an axle weight of not more than 3 tons
on any one axle, or of any other heavy motor-vehicle which
with the load it is carrying has an axle weight of not more
than 4 tons on any one axle :-
Pupuke Settlement Road.

The Taumarunui Milk Delivery Notice 1944, Amendment No. 1
PURSUANT to the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942,* the
Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows :-
- This notice may be cited as the Taumarunui Milk Delivery
Notice 1944, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with
and deemed part of the Taumarunui Milk Delivery Notice 1944β
(hereinafter referred to as "the principal scheme"). - Clause (6) of the principal scheme is hereby revoked and
the following clause substituted therefor :-
"(6) Subject to the foregoing provisions of this scheme, the
persons hereinafter described may deliver milk, wholesale or retail,
to the areas allocated to them as follows and not otherwise :-\nDescription of Vendor. |Area.
