Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Taking of Fish for Sale

W. D. Wade, 91 Raven Street, Kaiapoi, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 15 ft. fishing-vessel “Nancy” (not yet registered), using set-nets, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Kaikoura.

S. R. Forsyth, care of Post-office, Goose Bay, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 14 ft. fishing-vessel “Letus” (not yet registered), using hand-lines and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Goose Bay.

W. H. Turner, Te Puna, Tauranga, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 12 ft. fishing-vessel “Mana” (not yet registered), using drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Tauranga.

K. Wilson, 58 Norwich Quay, Lyttelton, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Cowan,” LN. 46, so as to permit him to operate a new 53 ft. 110 h.p. fishing-vessel (to be built), using trawl-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Lyttelton.

P. E. Richards, Waitoa, Thames Valley, has applied for a license to permit him to operate a 25 ft. fishing-vessel (to be purchased), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Whangamata.

D. M. Sang, Totara Road, Miramar, Wellington, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 16 ft. 3 h.p. fishing-vessel “Rusult III” (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Castle Point.

T. Howard, Jordan’s Island, Kaukapakapa, has applied for a license to permit him to operate a 4 h.p. fishing-vessel (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Jordan’s Island, and also for a fish-retailer’s license to enable him to hawk his catches for sale from Oyster Point to the Makarau River.

S. Nella, 27 Clark Road, Onehunga, Auckland, has applied for a license to permit him to operate a 55 ft. 132 h.p. vessel (to be constructed), using trawl-nets to be of the French type, capacity of hull 350 baskets, catches to be landed to the Ocean Fish Co., Ltd., Auckland.

Fish Retailing

W. I. Meaclem, 368 Montreal Street, Christchurch, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit him to sell cooked fish from his restaurant premises at 540 Colombo Street, Christchurch.

A. Hughes and H. Hamer, Foxton, have applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit them to hawk fish for sale in the Foxton area and from Foxton to Longburn, Sanson and Rongotea, Fitzherbert and Tokomaru.

I. Fitzpatrick, Main South Road, Omata, New Plymouth, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit her to sell wet and cooked fish from premises to be known as “Moturoa Fish Shop,” situated at Rawinia Street, Moturoa, New Plymouth.

E. C. McCulloch, Colac Bay, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit him to sell wet fish from premises situated at the beach, Colac Bay.

Fish Canning

Irvine and Stevenson St. George Co., Ltd., Dunedin, have made application for a variation in the conditions of their existing license so as to permit them to operate a fish-canning factory at Jackson’s Bay, Westland.

Manufacture of Rubber Tires and Tubes

Notice is hereby given that the Bureau of Industry intends to consider applications for licenses to engage in the manufacture in New Zealand of rubber tires and tubes for motor-vehicles.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 26th April, 1945, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Sale by Wholesale of Fish

Nelson Fisheries and Cool Storage, Ltd., Fish Wholesalers, of Nelson and Blenheim, have applied for an extension of the company’s wholesale license to include also Westport.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 19th April, 1945, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box, 3025, Wellington.
