Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Taking of Fish for Sale
J. A. Best, Te Horo, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 14 ft. 5 h.p. fishing-vessel “Kiwi” (not yet registered), using hand-lines, catches to be landed at Paraparaumu.
T. Forrest, 67 Le Cren Street, Timaru, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Rob Roy,” TU. 122, so as to permit him to operate the fishing-vessel “Karoro,” LN. 145, using long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Timaru.
E. J. Graves and E. F. Anderson, Fishermen, of Nelson, have applied for a variation of their fishing licenses in respect of the vessels “Surprise,” NN. 779, and “Aloma,” NN. 727; so as to permit them to operate Danish seine nets on the “Aloma” instead of the “Surprise,” the latter vessel to operate only trawl-nets, set-nets, long lines, and hand-lines.
F. H. Davis, 27 Mein Street, Wellington, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Waiwera,” AK. 75, so as to permit him to operate a 50 ft. vessel (to be purchased), using trawl-nets, set-nets, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Wairau Bar.
J. T. Cantrick, 67 Palmer Street, Bluff, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Tainui,” BF. 44, using trawl-nets, set-nets, hand-lines, and long lines, so as to permit him to land his catches at Port Chalmers instead of Bluff.
Radio-manufacturing Industry
Television Corporation of New Zealand, Limited, Christchurch, have applied for a license to manufacture radio receiving-sets.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
I. C. Gibson has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one petrol pump installed at store premises situated at Oaro and previously licensed in the name of R. Moynihan.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 19th April, 1945, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Taking of Fish for Sale
C. W. McManaway, High Street, Picton, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 36 ft. 18 h.p. engined vessel “Madge” (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Picton.
E. Federico, 3 Brighton Street, Island Bay, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Rosalie,” WN. 89, using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches of which are landed at Wellington, so as to permit him to operate a new 48 ft. vessel (to be built) to be powered with two 40 h.p. Diesel motors, using purse-seine nets, set-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Auckland or Whangarei alternatively, for supply to the cannery of Messrs. Seafoods, Ltd.
G. Hare, care of Railway Hotel, Point Ahuriri, has applied for a license to permit him to operate the fishing-vessel “Dorothea” (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Napier.
J. Cosgrove, 63 Cornfoot Street, Castlecliff, Wanganui, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his fishing-vessel “Ni Ni,” WGN. 153, using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Wanganui.
H. J. Livingston, Totara North, North Auckland, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Hazel,” RL. 321, so as to permit him to operate a 26 ft. 25 h.p. fishing-vessel (to be purchased), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Totara North.
M. Z. Lane, Totara North, North Auckland, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Hero” so as to permit him to operate also the “Zephyr” (not yet registered), using drag-nets, set-nets, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Whangaroa and Totara North, and also for a fish-retailer’s license to enable him to sell his catches at boatside at Whangaroa and Totara North.
Fish Retailing
J. G. Devine, Invercargill, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit him to sell wet and cooked fish from premises situated at 83 Clyde Street, Invercargill.
R. E. Paxman, Whangarei, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit her to sell wet and cooked fish from premises situated at Cameron Street, Whangarei, known as the Central Dining Rooms.
M. A. Dodson, Takaka, Nelson, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit him to sell wet and cooked fish from premises in the Township of Takaka.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
Messrs. Felt and Textiles of N.Z., Ltd., have applied for a variation of their existing footwear licenses involving a transfer of the following from Jas. Drummond and Co., Wellington, to Myrl Shoe Co. (N.Z.), Ltd., Auckland, the production of men’s, women’s, youths’, and children’s footwear by the cemented process.

H. M. Taylor has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from four petrol pumps to be installed at proposed service station and car park premises situated at 173-183 St. Asaph Street, Christchurch.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 12th April, 1945, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
