Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations, 1944.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 150

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, the Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 150 by deleting therefrom the words—

“Windsor Clothing Manufacturing Co., at Plimmerton,”

and substituting therefor the words—

“Strong Clothing, Ltd., at Plimmerton.”

Dated this 9th day of March, 1945.

THE Controller of Man-power doth hereby give notice that the Hon. the Minister of Industrial Man-power has made the following amendments to declarations of essential undertakings as enumerated hereunder as from the dates indicated :—

Appointing the Transport Appeal Authority under the Transport Licensing Act, 1931

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, and section eighty-two of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby appoint the Honourable Sir Francis Vernon Frazer, of Wellington, to be the Transport Appeal Authority for a term commencing on the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, and expiring on the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 22nd day of March, 1945.

Certificate under Section 88 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928

Wellington, 14th March, 1945.

THE following certificate received by the Minister of Finance from the Chairman, Motunau Rabbit Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of section 88 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928.

MOTUNAU RABBIT BOARD

In the matter of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and in the matter of a proposal by the Motunau Rabbit Board to raise a loan of £1,200 under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of erecting a house at Motunau for the use of the Board’s Inspector.

I, ERIC CHARRINGTON GARDINER, of Vulcan Downs, Motunau, Sheep-farmer, the Chairman of the Motunau Rabbit Board, do hereby certify as follows :—

  1. That the formality of taking a poll of the ratepayers in the Motunau Rabbit Board’s District for the raising of the said loan has been dispensed with upon the written request of a majority of the ratepayers who possess in their own right a majority of the votes that would be exercisable at such poll.

  2. That ten ratepayers possessing thirty votes have signed the said request.

  3. That there are thirteen ratepayers possessing thirty-nine votes in the said district liable to be rated for the said loan.

I hereby declare the proposal to raise the said loan to be carried.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Taking of Fish for Sale

D. H. Henderson, Te Pangu, Tory Channel, Picton, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of his fishing-vessel “Pat Marley,” BN.5, using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches which are landed at Wairau Bar, so as to permit him to change his port of landing to Te Pangu.

J. A. Persson, 235 Cuba Street, Palmerston North, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Aurora,” WN.320, using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, so as to permit him to land his catches at Waikanae instead of Foxton.

G. C. Hansen, Purerua, Russell, has applied for a variation of his existing license so as to permit him to operate the 21 ft. 12 h.p. fishing-vessel “Daphne” (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Russell.

J. Kaalund, Ltd., 8 Willow Street, Tauranga, have applied for a variation of their existing license in respect of the “Sylvia K,” so as to permit them to use trawl-nets in addition to their present method of fishing, catches to be landed at Tauranga.

T. Dennis, Manutuke, via Gisborne, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 14 ft. fishing-vessel (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Manutuke, also for a fish-retailer’s license to enable him to hawk his catches for sale at boatside and in the townships of Muriwai, Manutuke, Patutahi, Waitaki, and Ngatapa.

W. Hart, Rings Road, Coromandel, has applied for a license so as to permit him to operate his 24 ft. 12 h.p. fishing-vessel (not yet registered), using long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Whangapoua.

W. McM. Johnston, Post-office, Karitane, Otago, has applied for a license so as to permit him to operate his 30 ft. 5 h.p. fishing-vessel (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Karitane.

H. R. Taucher, 6 Heretaunga Street, Petone, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 16 ft. fishing-vessel “Ajax” (not yet registered), using drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Eastbourne.

Fish Retailing

J. G. Divine, Invercargill, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit him to sell cooked fish from premises situated at 83 Clyde Street, Invercargill.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

Roxy Slipper House, High Street, Frankton Junction, has applied for permission to manufacture by the machine-sewn process for sale in own premises nurses’ white-duty shoes, women’s open-style sandals, children’s open-style beach sandals.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

J. N. J. Coster, Ruawai, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one petrol pump to be installed at garage premises situated at Ruawai.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 5th April, 1945, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
