Price Order No. 343 (Amending Price Order No. 329) (Milk—New Plymouth)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939*, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 343, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 329† (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 8th day of March, 1945.

  3. The Schedule to the principal Order is hereby amended by inserting, after the reference to 1s. 7d., the words “per gallon.”

Price Order No. 344 (Patons and Baldwins Wools and Canvas)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order:—

PRELIMINARY

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 344, and shall come into force on the 12th day of March, 1945.

  2. (1) Price Order No. 226† is hereby revoked.
    (2) The revocation of the said Order shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this Order.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. This Order applies with respect to Patons and Baldwins wools and canvas of the kinds specified in the Schedule hereto.

FIXING MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES OF GOODS TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES

  1. The maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any goods to which this Order applies shall be the appropriate price fixed in the Schedule hereto.

THE following notice, received by the Minister of Finance from the Mayor, Wanganui City, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Wanganui, taken on the 24th day of February, 1945, on the proposal of the Wanganui City Council to borrow the sum of £37,400 for the purposes of the erection at the Corporation Gasworks of a new retort house containing six new vertical retorts complete, in replacement of six of the vertical retorts now in service, and the providing of all material, appliances, and other matters and things necessary, expedient, or convenient for such purposes—

Votes.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 983
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 572
Informal votes .. .. .. .. 12

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Gas-producers

TENDERS marked “Tender No. 49” for the purchase of seventy-seven gas-producers, Government design, Type “B,” suitable for two-ton trucks or over, close with the Secretary, War Assets Realization Board, Defence Services Building, Bunny Street, Wellington (postal address, Box 5080, Lambton Quay), at noon on Monday, 12th March, 1945. The whole or any number may be tendered for, and inspection may be made at Ministry of Supply’s Store, Aotea Quay, Wellington.

Tenders must be addressed to the Secretary and enclosed in envelopes marked “Tender No. 49.” Conditions of tender (to which all tenders are subject) may be obtained at the Board’s Wellington office and at the offices of the Board’s District Executive Officers, care of Public Works Department, Auckland and Christchurch. The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

Tenders invited for Surplus War Assets

TENDERS for the purchase of the following assets close with the Secretary, War Assets Realization Board, Defence Services Building, Bunny Street, Wellington (postal address, P.O. Box 5080, Lambton Quay), at noon on Monday, 19th March, 1945:—

Scrap Perspex (Tender No. 51), approximately 2,500 lb. Held at No. 2 Stores Depot, Mangaroa, Wellington. To be sold in lots of 112 lb. or more. Delivery at store.

One only planer (Tender No. 52), 12 ft. stroke, mechanical feed. No motor available. Located at Auckland, and may be inspected on application to Naval Store Officer there. Delivery at site.

Horizontal boring mill (Tender No. 53). No motor available. Located at Auckland, and may be inspected on application to Naval Store Officer there. Delivery at site.

Aluminium scrap (Tender No. 54), comprising 200 aluminium alloy pistons, 200 assorted screws, 1 cwt. bolts, and 20 locking handles. Located at R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Harewood, and may be inspected on application to Commanding Officer there.

Six (6) aircraft tyres, 12 by 10, “Palmer” (Tender No. 55). Located at R.N.Z.A.F. Depot, Weedons, Christchurch, and may be inspected on application to Commanding Officer there. Delivery to be taken at site. Tubes are available subject to negotiation.

Surplus equipment (Tender No. 56). Located at R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Hobsonville, and may be inspected on application to Commanding Officer there. Delivery at site. Comprises engine cradles (approximately 200), wooden Walrus cradles (approximately 5), wooden sledges (3), tanks off tanker trailers (8), parts of three-cylinder Twigg engine, parts of electric generator, wooden-slat beds, coach bolts and screws and wood, loading-trays (14).

The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted. Tenders must be enclosed in envelopes marked “Tender No.……” and addressed to the Secretary. Conditions of tender (to which all tenders are subject) may be obtained at the Board’s Wellington office and at the offices of the Board’s District Executive Officers, care of Public Works Department, Auckland and Christchurch.
