Notice of Intention to take Land for Housing Purposes in the City of Lower Hutt

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Lower Hutt and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proposed to be taken: 3 roods 30 perches.

Being part Section 19 (Te Awa Mutu Stream-bed), Hutt District.

Situated in Block XIV, Belmont Survey District (City of Lower Hutt) (Wellington Land District). (S.O. 20800.)

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 113897, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue, edged blue.

The Timber Industry Labour Legislation Modification Order 1941 and Amendment revoked

PURSUANT to the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby revoke as from the day of the date hereof the Timber Industry Labour Legislation Modification Order 1941 and the Timber Industry Labour Legislation Modification Order 1941, Amendment No. 1.

Notice as to Area in Auckland and Wellington Land Districts declared to be a Fire District

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I hereby notify that on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Boards of the Auckland and Wellington Land Districts, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared by me to be a fire district, and, with respect to the fire district constituted as aforesaid, I do further specify the period from the 1st day of October in any year to the 15th day of April in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said district, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire or cause to be set on fire, any timber (whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations or land-clearing operations, or any grass or other specially inflammable material without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICTS.—AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON CONSERVANCIES

West Taupo Fire District

ALL that area in the Auckland and Wellington Land Districts, Taumarunui and Taupo Counties, containing approximately 178,000 acres, situated in Puketapu, Karangahape, Pukawa, Maungaku, Puketi, Pihanga, and Tongariro Survey Districts, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north by a permanent State forest (Gazette, 1935, page 581), part of Waihaha No. 3 Block, and the Oruapuraho River; towards the east by Lake Taupo and the Tokaanu River to a point due west of Trig. Station E (Manganamu); towards the north by a right line bearing due east to the eastern side of the Tongariro Bridge — Waihi Pa Main Highway; towards the north-east by the north-eastern side of the said highway to the National Park — Taupo Main Highway and by the crossing of the latter highway; towards the east by the eastern side of the last-mentioned highway and the Poutu Stream; towards the south by the Poutu Stream and the southern shore of Lake Roto Aira; towards the east by the Te One Stream; towards the south-west by the south-western side of the National Park — Taupo Main Highway and the Roto Aira Road; towards the south-east by the south-eastern side of the said road; towards the south-west by the Otamangakau Stream; towards the south by the said stream and the Wanganui River; towards the west by the Wanganui River, the Waipari Stream, and a right line bearing due north to the south-eastern corner of Hauhungaroa No. 11 Block (permanent State forest—Gazette, 1943, page 319); towards the south by Hauhungaroa No. 1c Block; and towards the west by Hauhungaroa No. 8 Block. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 53/3, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 21st day of December, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 8th day of March, 1945, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL those pieces or parcels of land containing together two hundred and sixty (260) acres two (2) roods and twenty-six (26) perches, more or less, being parts of Allotment 13, Parish of Onewhero, and Lot 3 on Deposited Plan No. 12858, being also part of Allotment 99, Parish of Onewhero, and being all of the land comprised in certificates of title, Vol. 569, folio 92 (limited as to parcels), and Vol. 322, folio 228 (Auckland Registry).
