The Wool Industry Act Commencement Order 1944

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by subsection two of section one of the Wool Industry Act, 1944, it is provided that that Act shall come into force on a date to be appointed for the commencement thereof by the Governor-General by Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as follows:—

  1. This Proclamation may be cited as the Wool Industry Act Commencement Order 1944.

  2. The Wool Industry Act, 1944, shall come into force on the eleventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of December, 1944.

Conferring Special Jurisdiction on the Native Land Court

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of December, 1944

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section thirty-four of the Native Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby confer jurisdiction on the Native Land Court to hear and determine any claim to the ownership, possession, or custody of certain articles of jewellery or ornaments purchased by one, Meretiana, deceased, and now allegedly within the disposition or control of one, Te Rai Wiari, and to make such order or orders in the premises as the Court thinks necessary or expedient.

Directing the Sale of Land in Block XI, Te Kawaui Survey District, under the Public Works Act, 1928

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of January, 1945

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public work for which it was acquired.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold: 4 acres. Being part Section 60, Selection Block III, Douglas Block.

Situated in Block XI, Te Kawaui Survey District. (S.O. 17825.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 56331, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

The North-western Side of Portion of Edward Street, in the Tahunanui Town District, exempted from the Provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works Act, 1928, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of January, 1945

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Tahunanui Town Board on the fourteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, viz.:—

“The Tahunanui Town Board, being the local authority having control of the roads in the Tahunanui Town Board District, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the north-western side of Edward Street fronting subdivision of Lots 19, 20, 21, and Part 22, D.P. 1413, being part Section 1 of Waimea East, Block IV, Waimea Survey District, and contained in the Certificate of Title, Volume 64, folio 62 ”;

subject to a condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the north-western side of the portion of Edward Street (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.

SCHEDULE

THE north-western side of all that portion of Edward Street situated in the Nelson Land District, Tahunanui Town District, fronting Lots 19, 20, 21, and Part 22, D.P. 1413, being part Section 1, Suburban South, Block IV, Waimea Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 120521, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

The Southern Side of Portion of Taft Street, in the City of Wellington, exempted from the Provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works Act, 1928, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of January, 1945

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Wellington City Council on the fifteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, viz.:—

“The Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to that part of the southern side of Taft Street fronting part Lot 75, D.P. 392, comprised in C.T. 153/259 ”;

subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the southern side of the portion of Taft Street (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.

SCHEDULE

THE southern side of all that portion of street situated in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, known as Taft Street, fronting part Lot 75, D.P. 392, being part Section 12, Ohiro District, Township of Brooklyn. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 120693, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on the twentieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, viz.:—

“That the Dunedin City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Dunedin, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the south-western side of the portion of District Road adjoining Allotment D, D.P. 1014, being also part of Section 12, Block X, North Harbour and Blueskin District, such land being comprised and described in Certificate of Title 173/109 ”;
