Price Order No. 293 (Amending Price Order No. 221) (Poultry)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 293, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 221 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 22nd day of December, 1944.

  3. The Schedule to the principal Order is hereby amended by revoking the several maximum prices fixed for geese and turkeys and substituting therefor the several maximum prices fixed in the Schedule to this Order.

Price Order No. 295 (Amending Price Order No. 190 with respect to Plums)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 295, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 190 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 21st day of December, 1944.

  3. (1) The maximum prices that may be charged in any district for plums of any variety (other than greengages) shall hereafter be determined in accordance with the principal Order and the Schedule to this Order.

(2) The Schedule to the principal Order is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much thereof as relates to plums (including greengages).

Price Order No. 294 (Jamaican Oranges and Grapefruit)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 294, and shall come into force on the 22nd day of December, 1944.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. (1) This Order applies with respect to retail sales of Jamaican oranges and Jamaican grapefruit.

(2) The provisions of this Order shall apply notwithstanding that any goods to which the Order is applicable are sold otherwise than by weight.

FIXING MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICE OF GOODS TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES

  1. (1) Subject to the following provisions of this clause, the maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any Jamaican oranges or Jamaican grapefruit shall be computed at the rate of 11d. per pound.

(2) If, in respect of any lot of fruit to which this Order applies, the maximum retail price calculated in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this clause is not an exact number of pence, the maximum price of the lot shall be rounded upward to the nearest halfpenny.

(3) Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions of this clause and subject to such conditions, if any, as it thinks fit, the Tribunal, on application by any retailer, may authorize special maximum retail prices in respect of any fruit to which this Order applies where for any reason extraordinary freight charges are incurred by the retailer in obtaining delivery from the source.
