1546 THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE [No. 98
Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:—
A motor-driver's license issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor for the purpose of the business of the respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land, suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 20th day of November, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 1st day of February, 1945, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing twenty-one (21) acres three (3) roods and twenty-nine (29) perches, more or less, being part Lot 4, Subdivision B, Heretaunga Block, and being Lots 52 and 53 on a plan numbered 2366, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier; and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 62, folio 87 (Hawke's Bay Registry).

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement three hundred and thirty-four (334) acres two (2) roods, more or less, being Section Five (5), Block XIII, Purua Survey District, comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 190, folio 96 (Auckland Registry), together with drainage and water-right easement appurtenant thereto created in and by Transfer 206535, and also together with water-right easement created in and by Transfer 190476.

Taking of Fish for Sale
K. S. Cordiner, 20 High Street, Timaru, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 31 ft. fishing-vessel "Mary" (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Timaru.
S. J. Mears, P.O. Box 36, Rai Valley, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 35 ft. fishing-vessel "Waiona" (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Blenheim.
Messrs. A. N. Kitto and W. T. Kitto, 27 Queen Street, Timaru, have applied for a variation of their respective licenses so as to permit them to operate their fishing-vessel "Ruapuke," BF. 73, using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Timaru.

E. J. Thompson, Pines Beach, Kaiapoi, has applied for a fish-retailer's license to permit him to hawk fish for sale at Moturau Beach, Cheviot, Tipapa, and Scargill.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
Duckworth, Turner, and Co., Ltd., 178 Carlyle Street, Christchurch, has applied for permission to transfer Veldtschoen making, finishing, and cleaning section to premises of Roskilley and Co., Queen Street, Sydenham.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 4th January, 1945, to G. L. O'Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
