PURSUANT to the provisions of the Marriage Act, 1908, the following names of officiating ministers within the meaning of the said Act are published for general information:—

THE following notice, received by the Minister of Finance from the Deputy Mayor, Whangarei Borough, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Whangarei, taken on the 2nd day of December, 1944, on the proposal of the Whangarei Borough Council to borrow the sum of two thousand six hundred pounds for meeting the costs of street works in Kamo Road and Dent Street—
Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 82
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. 72
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Gisborne Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Education Reserves in Southland Land District for Lease by Public Auction
District Lands and Survey Office,
Invercargill, 6th December, 1944.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserves will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, on Wednesday, the 17th January, 1945, at 11 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN OF INVERCARGILL
SECTION 12, Block XXVI: Area, 1 rood. Upset annual rental, £7. Valuation for improvements, £2,000, comprising brick bungalow, tile roof, six living-rooms and kitchenette, attached washhouse, coal-shed, and large double garage, and also fencing. Good central position with frontage to Nith and Crinan Streets.
SOUTHLAND COUNTY.—TOWN OF MARAKURA
Lot 23, Block I: Area, 1 rood 27 perches. Upset annual rental, £1. Valuation for improvements, £250, comprising two-roomed dwelling and fencing. Situated on Lake Te Anau.
Abstract of Conditions of Leases
- Possession will be given on the day of sale.
- Six months’ rent at the rate offered, lease and registration fees (£2 2s.), and weighting for improvements must be deposited on the fall of the hammer.
- Term of lease: Twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for further similar terms at rents on fresh valuations under the provision of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.
- Rent payable half-yearly in advance.
- Lessee to maintain in good substantial repair all buildings, drains, and fences; to keep clear all creeks, drains, ditches, and watercourses; to trim all live hedges, and to yield up all improvements in good repair and condition at the expiration of the lease.
- Lessee not to carry on any noxious, noisome, or offensive trade upon the land.
- Lessee not to transfer, mortgage, sublet, or subdivide without the consent of the Land Board.
- Lessee not to use or remove any gravel without the consent of the Land Board.
- No liability is accepted on the part of the Crown, or of the Land Board, to pay to the lessee any compensation for improvements, but if the lease is not renewed upon expiration, or if it is sooner determined, the new lease offered for disposal by public competition will be subject to payment by the incoming tenant of an amount equal to the value of buildings and improvements belonging to the original lessee, and the amount so paid by the incoming tenant shall be paid to the original lessee without any deduction except for rent or other payments in arrear.
- Lessee to keep buildings insured.
- Interest at the rate of 10 per centum per annum to be paid on rent in arrear.
- Lease liable to termination if conditions are violated.
Form of lease may be perused and any further particulars required may be obtained at the office of the undersigned.
