ALL that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the intersection of the southern boundary of Lot 3, on plan deposited in the Canterbury Land District Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 10297, with the western side of Albert Terrace, the said point being on the boundary of the City of Christchurch (New Zealand Gazette, 1942, pages 2743–4); thence proceeding in a southerly direction along the western side of Albert Terrace aforesaid to the southern boundary of Lot 9 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 10297; thence westerly along the said southern boundary of that lot to the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid; thence northerly and easterly along that boundary to the point of commencement.

Alfred Robert Foote
as representative on the Marlborough Hospital Board of the Sounds County (being a county in which the Counties Act, 1920, is not in force).

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by subsection two of section eighteen of the Public Service Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Commissioner may, whenever it appears advantageous to the Public Service so to do, certify to the Governor-General that it is expedient to add any office to or to abolish any office from the Administrative Division of the Public Service of New Zealand; and the Governor-General in Council may, upon such certificate, add any office to the Administrative Division or abolish any office therein:
And whereas the Public Service Commissioner has certified to the Governor-General that it is expedient to add the office of Director of Housing Construction to the said Administrative Division:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said section, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby add the office of Director of Housing Construction to the said Administrative Division.

Officer authorized to attest Signatures of Natives to Instruments under Chattels Transfer Act, 1924

PURSUANT to section five hundred and forty-seven of the Native Land Act, 1931, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Ludwig Arnold Berthold Teutenberg, Clerk, Auckland, being an officer in the service of the Crown, is authorized to attest, in accordance with the provisions of the said section five hundred and forty-seven, the signatures of Natives to instruments by way of security within the meaning of the Chattels Transfer Act, 1924.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 30th day of November, 1944.

PURSUANT to section two hundred and sixty-eight of the Native Land Act, 1931, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Ludwig Arnold Berthold Teutenberg, Clerk, Auckland, being an officer in the service of the Crown, is authorized to attest, in accordance with the provisions of the said section two hundred and sixty-eight, the signatures of Natives to instruments of alienation of Native land.

Arrangements for taking Poll respecting Proposed Borough of Mount Maunganui

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me in that behalf by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that a poll shall be taken on the proposal that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a borough under the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, by name the Borough of Mount Maunganui; and, further, I do hereby make the following appointments and arrangements for the purpose of taking the said poll:—

George Ewan Hutton, Esquire, of Mount Maunganui, to be the Returning Officer for the purpose of taking the said poll, and also to be the person authorized to prepare a voters’ roll of the persons entitled to vote at the said poll.

The voters’ roll prepared and signed by the said George Ewan Hutton shall be the voters’ roll to be used at the said poll.

The said poll shall be taken on Saturday, the twentieth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, and shall close at six o’clock in the afternoon of that day.

Except as herein provided, the poll shall be taken as nearly as may be in the manner provided by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and the Returning Officer hereby appointed shall be deemed to be a Returning Officer appointed for the purpose of that Act.
SCHEDULE
AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS THE BOROUGH OF MOUNT MAUNGANUI
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks VI and VII, Tauranga Survey District, commencing at a point where the road forming the southern boundary of Te Awa-o-Tururako No. 2 Block meets the Tauranga Harbour; thence easterly along the northern side of the aforesaid road and its production across a public road to Wharerora No. 25 Block; thence along the north-western boundary of the last-mentioned block to the Mount Maunganui Branch line of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway; thence by a right line across the aforesaid railway and public road to the southern-most corner of Lot 35 on Plan 6922, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence along the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 35 and 67 on Plan 6922 aforesaid, across a public road, and along the road forming the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Lot 84 on Plan 6922 aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary across a public road to Omanu No. 2B No. 3 Block; thence along the western boundary of the last-mentioned block to the sea; thence north-westerly generally along the coast-line of the Bay of Plenty and south-easterly generally along the coast-line of the Tauranga Harbour to the point of commencement.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 9th day of December, 1944.

Member appointed to Tuatapere Scenic Board

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the twenty-third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of that month, the control of certain reserves in the Southland Land District, known as the Tuatapere Scenic Reserves, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of the Tuatapere Scenic Board, in pursuance of section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908: And whereas it is desirable that Allister Park McDonald should be appointed a member of the said Board in place of Joseph James Lawson, resigned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint the said
Allister Park McDonald
to be a member of the Tuatapere Scenic Board constituted by the Warrant dated the twenty-third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said Joseph James Lawson.
