Taking of Fish for Sale

Percy Watson, 1 Andrew Street, Napier, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of his fishing-vessel “Akina,” NR. 4, at present operating into Napier, so as to permit him to transfer his port of landing to Gisborne.

W. C. Matheson, Taurikura, has applied for a variation of his existing license so as to permit him to operate his fishing-vessel “Galatea,” AK. 84, using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Tauranga instead of Whangarei.

G. S. C. Rowe, Waiomo, Thames Coast, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 14 ft. fishing-boat (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Waiomo, and also for a fish-retailer’s license to enable him to hawk his catches for sale in Waiomo only.

E. T. Frost, Mangonui, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 25-ft. 5 h.p. fishing-launch “Roma” (not yet registered), using set-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Mangonui.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 14th December, 1944, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

R. J. Rutherford, 44 Cutfield Road, New Plymouth, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his fishing-launch “La Raine,” WN. 338, using trawl-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at New Plymouth.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 7th December, 1944, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Fish Canning

Messrs. Joyce and Taylor, Barristers and Solicitors, Greymouth, have applied on behalf of Messrs. Alex. R. Broome, of Hokitika, G. H. H. Robertson, of Hari Hari, and others, for a license to engage in the industry described as the preservation for sale in hermetically-sealed cans, jars, or other containers of fish in respect of whitebait and eels only from premises to be erected in the neighbourhood of Hari Hari, South Westland.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 21st December, 1944, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirits

Eric Morgan’s Service Station, Ltd., has applied for permission to transfer the company’s motor-spirit retail license in respect of two petrol pumps installed at garage and service station premises situated in Victoria Street, Hamilton, to a new site further north on the opposite side of the road, a distance of approximately 90 yards.

New Brighton Garage Co., Ltd., have applied for permission to transfer the company’s motor-spirit retail license in respect of four petrol pumps installed at service station premises situated in Seaview Road to a new site at the corner of Seaview Road and Nelson Street, New Brighton.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 11th December, 1944, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Price Order No. 290 (Amending Price Order No. 128) (Eggs)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 290, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 128† (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 4th day of December, 1944.

  3. The Second Schedule to the principal Order, as set out in Price Order No. 286‡, is hereby revoked and the following Schedule substituted therefor:—
