Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VIII, Whangape Survey District, for a Native School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a Native school—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Broadwood and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 4 acres 0 roods 1·2 perches.

Being part Section 9.

Situated in Block VIII, Whangape Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 33353.)

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Hunterville and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Appointing Saturday as the Statutory Closing-day in the Borough of Queenstown

WHEREAS a poll to determine the statutory closing-day in the Borough of Queenstown was duly taken under the authority of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, on the 27th day of May, 1944:

And whereas the Town Clerk of the Borough of Queenstown has notified me that the majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the appointment of Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough:

Now, therefore, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough on and from the 11th day of December, 1944.

The Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 30, Amendment No. 1

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 30, Amendment No. 1.

  2. This Order shall be read together with and deemed part of the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941.

  3. The Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 30, is amended by revoking item (13) in the Schedule to clause 3 and substituting therefor the following:—

“(13) New Zealand (except Northern, Marlborough, and Westland Industrial Districts) Tinsmiths, Copper-smiths, and Sheet-metal Workers’ award
