Land vested in the Christchurch City Council declared to be a Public Reserve
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 10th November, 1944.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed by the Christchurch City Council, pursuant to section 5 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, on the 25th day of October, 1944, due notice of intention to pass such resolution having been given in terms of the said section, and no objections thereto received:
"That, in pursuance of the provisions of section 5 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, the Christchurch City Council hereby declares the lands vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Christchurch, commonly known as Woodham Park, and more particularly described in the Schedule hereunder, to be a public reserve within the meaning of the Act.
"SCHEDULE OF LAND ABOVE REFERRED TO
"Part Lot 6, D.P. 7636, and Lot 19, D.P. 7472, part Rural Section 125, Woodham Road, and Lionel Street, comprising 4 acres 1 rood 17.9 perches."

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the Gazette on the 28th day of September, 1944, at page 1163:
And whereas no objection was made in manner prescribed by the said Act to the taking of the lands specified in the said notice:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said lands are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 1 st day of February, 1945, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing two thousand five hundred and ninety-three (2,593) acres, more or less, being Section One (1), Block XIII, Ruawahia Survey District, and originally part of Rerewhakaitu No. IB No. 1 Block, being the land contained certificate of title, Vol. 713, folio 22 (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman.
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Men’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 7th day of September, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land:
And whereas an appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act:
And whereas the said appeal was subsequently withdrawn:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 1 st day of December, 1944, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing fifty (50) acres, more or less, situated in the Auckland Land District, being Allotment 70, Parish of Tuhikaramea, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 510, folio 114, limited as to parcels (Auckland Registry).

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing ninety-eight (98) acres, more or less, being Subdivision 1, part of Section 10, Block XIII, Waitara Survey District, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 36, folio 84 (Taranaki Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing one hundred and one (101) acres two (2) roods and thirty-two (32) perches, more or less, being Sections 166 and 210, Huirangi District (Block XIII, Waitara Survey District), and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 121, folio 190, limited as to parcels and title (Taranaki Registry).

ALL that parcel of land in the North Auckland Land District containing seventy-six (76) acres, more or less, being Section 7s of the Puni Settlement, and being formerly part of Allotment 78 of the Parish of Puni, and being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 745, folio 183 (Auckland Registry).

THE Clerk of the Writs has received a return to the Writ issued on the 29th September, 1944, for the election of a Member of Parliament to serve in the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Awarua, and by the endorsement on such Writ it appears that George Richard Herron has been duly elected to serve as a Member for the said district.
