Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by clause 9 (1) of the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment No. 3,* the Price Tribunal hereby gives the following notice:-
NOTICE AS TO DECLARED GOODS

This notice may be cited as the Declared Goods (Control of Prices) Notice 1944, No. 5.

All goods of the kind specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be goods to which the provisions of clause 9 of the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment No. 3,* are applicable.

Taking of Fish for Sale
Alexander Smith, care of R. Hansen, Oaro, via Kaikoura, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 16 ft. fishing-launch "Ngaire Joy" (not yet registered), using long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Kaikoura.
R. V. Robinson, Glenstrae, Oaro, Kaikoura, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 16 ft. outboard-motor boat "Snooks" (not yet registered), using set-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Goose Bay.
D. A. Bourke, Bulwer, Pelorus Sound, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the fishing-vessels "Merlin," PN. 23, and "Aloma," PN. 11, so as to permit him to operate trawl-nets in addition to the methods of fishing for which the vessels are at present licensed.
W. J. Burns, 23 Patterson Street, Sandringham, Auckland, has applied for a variation of his existing license so as to permit him to operate the 120 h.p. engined O.V. vessel "Odin" and the barge "Keri" (not yet registered), for the purpose of mussel-dredging, catches to be landed into Auckland.
C. H. Civil, care of Seamen's Union, Auckland, has applied for a license to permit him to operate the fishing-vessel "Muritai," RL. 411, using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Opua, Bay of Islands.
W. R. Smith, Taurikura, Whangarei, has applied for a variation of his existing license so as to permit him to operate the launch "Maori" (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Whangarei.
M. G. Gibson, Grange, Haumoana, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 16 ft. launch, using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Haumoana, and also for a fish-retailer's license to enable him to hawk his catches for sale at Haumoana, Tuki Tuki Road, Kuramu Settlement, and Whakatu.
Fish Retailing
W. J. Carter, 67 Bury Street, Sumner, Christchurch, has applied for a fish-retailer's license to permit him to hawk fish for sale from his licensed fishing-vessel "Penguin," LN. 238, at Sumner Beach.
M. Rothel, Main South Road, Hornby, Canterbury, has applied for a fish-retailer's license to permit him to sell cooked fish from premises at the above address within the Hornby Township.
D. W. Wallace, 185 Gladstone Road, Gisborne, has applied for a fish-retailer's license to permit him to sell wet and cooked fish from premises situated either at the Esplanade, Kaiti, or at 280 Ormond Road, Gisborne.
Sale by Wholesale of Fish
W. J. Burns, 23 Patterson Street, Sandringham, Auckland, has applied for a fish-wholesaler's license to permit him to distribute from Auckland, mussels only (1) packed in sacks, uncooked, and (2) packed in kegs, cooked, to the retail trade throughout New Zealand.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
W. T. Stevens, 84 Paparoa Street, Papanui, Christchurch, has applied for a license to manufacture sandals by the machine-sewn process, and slippers by the riveted and machine-sewn processes, sizes-men's 5-11, women's 2-7, youths' 2-5, children's 3-6, 7-10, and 11-1.
F. Peterson, Cinderella Slipper Co., 36 Bassett Street, Burwood, Christchurch, has applied for a license to manufacture men's, women's, and children's sheep-skin slippers by the machine-sewn process.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than 16th November, 1944, to G. L. O'Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
